New Leaders Wanted, Ruling Class Shows True Colors

The next time you hear Harry Reid or John Boehner hawk a budget, or any other kind of spending bill like the sequester, where all the spending happens now and the savings happens years in the future, consider that a con job that has run its course.

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R)
Speaker of the House John Boehner (R)

After only one year of the sequester, that was supposed to last 8 years, it has already been raped by the “deal” passed by the House today.

Real fiscal conservatives. No! This has nothing to do with conservatives. This has to do with honesty. From now on, there will be no promises for anything happening in the future in exchange for something else happening now. It’s a lie. The “future” never comes.

There was a bill passed that was called PayGo back in 2010. It was in connection with raising the debt limit back then. Since then, raising the debt limit has become an annual habit of Congress, lacking the courage to control spending and treat a limit like a limit. Hell, they lack the courage to even spend the same amount next year as was spent last year. The PayGo legislation said that any increased spending had to be coupled with an equal amount of cuts somewhere else. PERIOD. That proved to be another lie and hasn’t been followed since the day it was passed. How else can anyone explain a $17 Trillion debt, heading to over 20 in a few years.

The budget hoopla in Congress today proves the point. No leader of either party in either branch has what it takes to tackle the real economic problems this country faces. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. And the House, under John Boehner, is supposed to control the purse of the government. He’s failing at his job. Spare me the incredulity and attacks on conservatives Mr. Speaker. You’re not the one to lecture anyone about credibility.

For 2014, we need new leaders.

Budget “Deal” Reached, But

What do you call a budget deal that spends $63 Billion of “settled law” called the sequester? I call it a Republican surrender. Never mind that since the sequester began, the Obama administration has claimed some economic recovery. And never mind that the sequester passed with bi-partisan support.

For un-sequestering $63 Billion dollars today and for the next eighteen months, the deal promises reductions totaling $85 Billion elsewhere. But that’s not for today or the next two years. That’s for the next ten years. Who in their right mind believes this will happen?

But that’s not even the most insane talking point the House and Senate Republican leadership is touting. They use buzz words like “specific deficit-reduction provisions” and “mandatory savings” and “non-tax revenue” that makes up this fictitious $85 Billion number. And “if you’re for deficit reduction, you’re for this agreement.” The snake oil they’re selling is that this agreement would cut the deficit by between $20 and $23 Billion, as if that actually means something. They call it “a step in the right direction.” It’s surrender. It’s means nothing more than trying to look relevant in standing up to Democrats for the sake of getting something done. It’s not going to stop demagoguery from Democrats. It’s not much more than moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic.

With a national debt of $17 Trillion, $23 Billion is like a mouse fart in a hurricane. There’s no serious attempt, not even the slightest attempt, to deal with the debt and deficit spending whatsoever. It’s like driving over the cliff at 60 miles per hour instead of 65.

Speaker Boehner is hoping to win something by playing defense with the Democrats. Mr. Speaker, you don’t win anything by playing defense. What Speaker Boehner is doing is effectively managing the decline of the Republican party. He’s doing it in two ways. By budget deals like this, which will rise its head again in time for the 2016 general election when he’ll once again cower to the demagoguery of the Left. And by attacking republicans in the House and throughout the country. Republicans who want to see real evidence of getting to a balanced budget, which necessarily means working toward not spending more than we take in, (to quote President Obama) PERIOD. I recall that that’s what they were elected and sent to Washington to do. And he can start by putting an end to the insane “baseline budgeting” scheme. If you and I can’t use baseline budgeting, what on earth makes any sane person think that the government should? They should be forced to justify every dollar of their budget before it is allocated.

This budget deal dodges a bullet. To win seats, Speaker Boehner needs to go on offense and shoot one of his own. He needs to carry a republican platform instead of a democrat-lite platform. He needs to talk about bold tax reform like the FairTax. Something that eliminates the current, punitive IRS tax code.  He needs to talk up health care reform like H.R.2300, the private-sector solution. And what better time to do that? And he needs to talk about how unleashing the economic engine of the country, achieving true energy independence, creating jobs, and putting people back to work again will turn this ship around. That’s what the American people want. And that’s something that, so far, only Republicans have a chance at delivering. Problem is, I’m not so sure Speaker Boehner has what it takes to get us there.

Mandela “Interpreter” Wins M.R.I.O.T.D. Award

The memorial service for Nelson Mandela was full of side shows that qualified for the Most Ridiculous Item Of The Day award. Winning out over President Obama’s selfie moment was the man, who’s name is still unknown, that posed as a sign language interpreter.

According to Cara Loening, director of Sign Language Education and Development in Cape Town, part of South Africa’s Deaf Federation . . .

“He’s a complete fraud. He wasn’t even doing anything, There was not one sign there. Nothing. He was literally flapping his arms around.”

Running a close third place to this guy and President Obama, is the security detail that allowed this stranger to be on the stage inches away from our president and other heads of state. In these days of explosive vests and who knows what else, the world can consider itself lucky that it didn’t end up that way.

Ukraines Look West, Their President Looks East

Ukraine’s president Viktor Yanukovich’s decision to withdraw from a free-trade deal with the EU last month has sparked huge street rallies by the people of the former Soviet satellite country. While Yanukovich is leaning back to Mother Russia, the people want full autonomy and solidarity with the West and the European Union.

In response, the Ukraine government sends in riot police to break up peaceful demonstrations. Demonstrations caused by their President Viktor Yanukovych promising to sign an economic free-trade deal with the European Union only to later renege on that promise.

Lying Presidents seem to be the thing today.

Obama Lied, And Won By 4 Points

OK, the 2012 election is over. I get it. But get this. One of the architects of Obamacare, Ezekial “Zeke” Emanuel, was on FOX News Sunday yesterday where Host Chris Wallace asked him whether President Obama’s promises “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan, period,” and “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, period” were true statements?

Zeke’s answer to Wallace was from another planet. He said, “Yes.  But look.  If you want to pay more for an insurance company that covers your doctor, you can do that.”

And to that point, Wallace said “Which means your premium may go up over what you were paying so that, in other words –”

Emanuel cut Wallace short with “No one guaranteed you that your premium wouldn’t increase. Premiums have been going up.”

That is a true statement. No one guaranteed that your premiums would not increase. On the contrary, President Obama said that premiums for the average family would decrease by $2,500. And that’s not happening either.

So in other words, it’s OK to lie to the American people if it will help you get elected. This isn’t news to me where liberals are concerned. It’s what they do. But it’s the first time it has been admitted to on national television.

Had President Obama said, “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan, if you want to pay more for it,” or “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, if you want to pay more,” or, “if you like your hospital, you can keep your hospital, if you want to pay more,” how many points do you think Romney would have won by?

Is It Circling The Wagons Or End Of Print Media?

Time was that the local daily newspaper, Pensacola News Journal, published letters to the editor on a daily basis. Why is that?

One reason would be that the people have been beaten down, lost all hope, if not their job, under this lawless and oppressive administration, have thrown in the towel and have given up speaking up.

Another would be that the paper feels a need to protect the Obama administration by not publishing letters perhaps overwhelmingly negative, if not informative.

There is one more possible reason. It could be an economic one. Maybe, with shrinking subscriber revenue, they can’t afford the paper to print the letters on? After several reporters and executives have already accepted early retirement or been laid off, maybe what we’re seeing is the evolution of the devolution of print media, and the people’s voice is the next casualty?

Wisconsin Political Speech Raid; Subpoenas hit allies of Scott Walker as his re-election campaign looms.

Progressives and Unions in Wisconsin are out to stifle free speech. Like the IRS political targeting, only republicans and conservative interest groups are affected.

Gov. Walker, elected three times in first term.

Once you understand the mindset of Progressives when it comes to elections, this will make sense even though they don’t. And the way this translates in elections is, they didn’t lose, they were robbed. To them, an election loss does not mean the people don’t like whatever it is they have to offer. It means they just didn’t destroy enough opponents or didn’t lie good enough to overcome their opponent’s platform. So now, they are out to intimidate the opposition’s supporters by using the courts and the associated legal cost. You see, making people think twice about contributing to Gov. Walker or any other Republican’s campaign, for fear of being investigated with zero probable cause, would give the unions the unfair advantage they’re looking for to reverse Walker’s reforms.

Special prosecutor Francis Schmitz has hit dozens of conservative groups with subpoenas demanding documents related to the 2011 and 2012 campaigns to recall Governor Walker and state legislative leaders.

Copies of two subpoenas we’ve seen demand “all memoranda, email . . . correspondence, and communications” both internally and between the subpoena target and some 29 conservative groups, including Wisconsin and national nonprofits, political vendors and party committees. The groups include the League of American Voters, Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Americans for Prosperity—Wisconsin, American Crossroads, the Republican Governors Association, Friends of Scott Walker and the Republican Party of Wisconsin. One subpoena also demands “all records of income received, including fundraising information and the identity of persons contributing to the corporation.” In other words, tell us who your donors are.

Infamy Expired, President Ignored Pearl Harbor

You know how you can tell when a president who despises America and its veterans is in his second term? When he completely blows off the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. Leave it to President Barack Hussein Obama to prove President Franklin Delano Roosevelt wrong when he declared December 7th as “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy.”

The White House website’s list of Statements and Releases shows no mention of it. See screen capture and video below:

whitehouse_statements_12_08_2013

If you want more evidence of just how insincere this President is on this subject, see his Presidential Proclamation — National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, 2013 that he signed last Thursday 12/5/2013. Not just that it was two days early. But on the very day, December 7,  he doesn’t remember his very own National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Instead, he calls on Congress to extend unemployment compensation benefits. You know, that one-year, temporary extension, that he has done every year for the last five years. A sure sign the Obama economy is on the rebound. What?

And as a testament on just how lousy the Obama economy is, in his own words, listen for his big closer at the end of the video.

So this holiday season, let’s give our fellow Americans who are desperately looking for work the help they need to keep on looking.

He acknowledges that fellow Americans are desperate. Desperately looking for work. But refuses to acknowledge that it’s because of his policies that they’ve been this desperate for this long.

The Other Mandela

Well, it’s really the same one. But, despite his travails for human rights and equality in South Africa that included 27 years in prison, there’s his support for Hamas in their never-ending attacks on Israel. And you may also not be aware that South Africa is today the murder capital of the world. And then the atrocities his wife committed while he was in jail.mandelaarafat15

Some people, like Mandela, just were not comfortable saying that Israel had a right to exist too. Buying into the Palistinian’s cry for Israel to give up land lost to them in their 1967 war on Israel. They should have considered the consequences of losing a war of aggression against a sovereign country. They might also consider themselves lucky that Israel stopped where it did. Oh well.

Which reminds me of another similarity between President Obama and Nelson Mandela, besides the color of their skin. They both wanted Israel to leave themselves vulnerable to further terrorist attacks and shelling from Hamas by giving up the security zone they claimed as the spoils of war. What they really mean is, peace for everyone, except the Jews.

As long as the media is focusing their attention away from Obamacare and onto Nelson Mandela, you may as well get the whole picture of the man.

Pearl Harbor Attacked, December 7, 1941

“A Date Which Will Live in Infamy”: FDR Asks for a Declaration of War

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, stunned virtually everyone in the United States military. Japan’s carrier-launched bombers found Pearl Harbor totally unprepared. President Franklin Roosevelt quickly addressed Congress to ask for a declaration of war as illustrated in this audio excerpt. Although he never mentioned Europe or the fact that Germany had by then declared war on the United States, the Pearl Harbor attack allowed him to begin the larger intervention in the European war he had long wanted.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt: Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation, and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to our secretary of state a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday the Japanese government also launched as attack against Malaya.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.

Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Wake Island.

And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As commander in chief of the Army and Navy I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. . .

And everyone thought that we would never see an attack on U.S. soil again. And until September 11, 2012, everyone thought we would always run to the aid of Americans under attack.
