Live Earth On Again In Rio, But

According to the Rio Justice Tribunal, the suspension of the concert has been revoked and the show will go on as scheduled. The show is “the last concert in Saturday’s Live Earth global series — partly organized by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore — with events also due in London, Sydney, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hamburg and East Rutherford, New Jersey.”

And the purpose of having a fundraising event like Live Earth and charge no admission is what? The show in Rio is free. Is that because they are so civilized that they might riot if it were not free? Inquiring minds want to know.

This blurb is interesting, mainly because I haven’t heard this anywhere else in the media about Algore’s save the earth project. . .

Rio is the only Live Earth concert free and open to the public. If it had been stopped, it would have been the second cancellation; Istanbul was dropped last month because of a lack of interest and security concerns. Ticket sales have been slow for most Live Earth shows and organizers had to change venues in Johannesburg in a bid to improve sales there.

That’s the typical liberal business model alright. Give the product away, and make up the loss by increasing the quantity given away. Air America just pays stations to carry their programming, or gives it away on satellite radio.  And if it doesn’t work out, then it’s the government’s job to support them in one way or the other.  To be fair you know.  Sorry, I’m rambling again.

Spread the love

  1. Nice site! I am trying to make a conservative digg alternative called GOP Hub (GOPHub.com). Anything you can do to help with this effort would be awesome. Plus feel free to submit any articles you write here on your blog :). Take care and have a great weekend!
