We have 698 miles of border to secure from terrorists and illegals. Another big ticket item. There are 12-20 million illegals in this country already. War time or not, it too is a big ticket item. There’s a lot going on and not much happening to fix any of it.
So what are democrats doing? Both the House and Senate Judiciary committees are issuing subpoenas into an investigation of legal activity. They are investigating legal activity. There is no accusation of anything illegal in the firing of those 8 U.S. attorneys. They have issued subpoenas to former White House council Harriet Myers and Sara M. Taylor, former White House political director, and the White House for documentation. All for legal activity. Maybe probing illegal activity would better serve us? Take Rep. William Jefferson (D-La) for example. His constituents call him Dollar Bill Jefferson. He had $90,000 in marked bribe money in his freezer at his D.C. home, two years ago. That would be a good place to start.

I don’t know quite how to characterize him, but senate majority ‘leader’ Harry Reid (D-NV) is beginning to sound like a broken record with his defense and war strategy. He says if we were to go into Iran to eliminate the insurgent training camps that are destabilizing Iraq and killing our own soldiers, that we would be destabilizing the region. One has to conclude that he feels that Iran’s participation in funding and equipping and training insurgents to do damage in Iraq and Lebanon and Israel is stabilizing. ?? And that makes sense to who?

Moving with all the deliberate speed of the United Nations, they are busy revamping ethics enforcement.
This investigation isn’t going to happen anytime soon. A week goes by and no action on Jefferson. Following the Bush lead I guess, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not being moved by an individual case like Jefferson’s. She’s going for the big picture. She’s going for a comprehensive ethics reform plan. Without pressure from the media, it could take years (stall) before they might get around to even opening an investigation.  The criminal process may take care of it for them.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Ct) understands why we’re in Iraq and why we need to prevail there in a win and not a premature retreat. The President himself has already said as much back when the new rules of engagement came out around the time of the beginning of the ‘surge’ strategy. It included going into Iran in pursuit of terrorists and the Iranians responsible for training and equipping terrorists. Joe has it right, but you need to see the comments from the wacko left.
