A story in the Military Times gives a window into the strategic thinking–or lack thereof–of the Democrats who now control the House.
We are the ones who now cannot put a name to the war we are in. Formerly called the war on terror.   The house majority prefers, instead, to let the enemy choose the name, based on where they are fighting, training, or attacking.  It’s just wait and see where the bombs go off and call it that, which is absurd.
Want to see how the new President of the United Nations handles criticism that is wholly justified and historically factual? See no evil, hear no evil, stricken from the record. Watch this video.
New Jersey official documents say they either deposited $551 million, $56 million, or $0 into its Teachers Pension fund.  It turns out that the actual amount was zero. Where did it all go? Â
BTW, New Jersey has been run by democrats since the 2000 election, a point the New York Times feels is not important for this article. Right! You know if republicans were in charge, they would have found the courage to mention it.
No, it’s not about Democrats v. Bush this time. This time it’s about special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is fighting release of documents in the now ‘closed’ Valerie Wilson debacle. From today’s Opinion Journal Online. . .
Mr. Fitzgerald is fighting release of the affidavits he filed with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals to justify compelling two reporters to testify about their conversations with Mr. Libby, and to throw one of them in jail for 85 days until she did so. Also under court seal are eight pages of a redacted 2005 D.C. Circuit opinion by Judge David Tatel that explained the court’s decision to support Mr. Fitzgerald’s pursuit of the reporters.
Thomas Sowell reminds us again that there is but one Commander-In-Chief, only one Secretary of State, and only one President of the United States.
Congressman Tom Lantos, who is a member of the delegation that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading to Syria, put the mission clearly when he said: We have an alternative Democratic foreign policy.”
Sowell points out “Democrats can have any foreign policy they want” if and when they are elected to the White House.” Democrats in Washington today are not being guided by the U.S. Constitution, they seem to be using the moveon.org version.
When blacks reject blacks, you have to wonder what’s up with that?
Leftist black racists in Oklahoma don’t want other blacks to be free. Some 2,800 blacks in Oklahoma have just been racially rejected by the Black Caucus of the Oklahoma legislators. How in the world did this come about?
As a follow-up to my post of March 15 (Here Comes The Race Card), the CBC has rebuked the agitators on the left and decided to partner with FOX broadcasting to co-sponsor presidential primary debates this fall. Proving, as this writer puts it, that a broken clock is right twice a day.Â
“The CBC Institute is committed to presenting the presidential candidates to the broadest audience possible,” Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the chairman of the institute, said in a statement. “Collaborating with Fox News provides an opportunity to take this presidential election to millions of households.”
It is a symbolic set-back for the rabid left to be sure, when the CBC decides NOT to play along with the race card. Rep. Bennie Thompson has it right.
It’s a war going on. Have you ever seen something like this before? The murder rate in Philadelphia is bad and getting worse. Communities are meeting to complain about it to try to get citizens to turn in the bad guys. Meanwhile, the police department has released interactive maps of shootings and murders for a real picture of just how bad it is, complete with a laundry list of victims. Â
It’s no joke when I meet someone from Philly and IÂ tell them that ‘I’m glad you got out alive.’
Iran has the latest version of reality TV, it’s called the 15 British POW’s. CNN International and Reuters are all over it. Meanwhile, still not a peep about the Geneva Convenience Conventions being violated.Â
No, it’s not a threat, its a joke. Thank you Rodney Dangerfield for your inspiration and humor.  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, against the wishes of the administration, visits the middle east’s largest sponsor of terrorism, Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Apparently she is saying nothing new. Apparently she is carrying the administration’s message; stop supporting terrorism, stop seeking to undermine the Lebanese government, recognize Israel’s right to exist, all that. All that has been said and done before.Â
Besides adding to global warming by flying over there, what was her point in going? To appear relevant I guess, as a Co-Commander-In-Chief-Secretary-of-State. Right, this after she tells the president to ‘calm down.’ She’s using a different version of the U.S. Constitution than the one in Washington. Must be the moveon.org version.
Belly up to the counter. Politics are on the menu and Ross is on the grill.
