Will Atty. Gen. Holder Turn Himself In?

More meaningless rhetoric from the Imperial Ruler (aka President Obama) today,  on executive orders and other demands that will do nothing to stop the kind of violence he and VP Biden want to stop, no matter how many cute children they use for props. The most intriguing statement was this one . . .

And finally, Congress needs to help, rather than hinder, law enforcement as it does its job. We should get tougher on people who buy guns with the express purpose of turning around and selling them to criminals. And we should severely punish anybody who helps them do this.

Considering that the Dept. of Justice and its ATF did exactly that in a program called Fast and Furious, I guess we can expect Eric Holder to turn himself in after rounding up all the others that were involved with it. Lucky for President Obama, the Freetown shooting did what Fast and Furious failed to do. It presented a crisis to jump on to. And when there’s an agenda involved, you just can’t let a crisis go to waste.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for anyone in the DOJ to pay any price for Fast and Furious. If the media isn’t interested in pursuing it, then it must not have happened.

Obama’s Arrogance On Display

It was much more than simply arrogance on display at today’s White House Press Conference. More lies and obfuscation and finger-pointing. More ducking responsibility for his own lack of leadership. Stunning, but not surprising.

Hard as he may try, and contrary to what he said, he does not have a mandate to increase the national debt and continue deficit spending year after year just because he was re-elected. The first time he was elected, he ran on decreasing the deficit by half by the end of his first term. It was $500 billion when he took over. The deficit isn’t $250 billion. It is 1.2 trillion, for four years in a row. The Republican majority House was also re-elected. And that’s where the spending is authorized. According to the Constitution. I know. He doesn’t like it, nor has he tried to protect and defend it. Remember, that is what he took an oath to do. And what he will do again next week. But that’s another story altogether. The people don’t want deficit spending. They want the debt to be paid down. Not added to.

At the presser, he said he cut the debt by $4 trillion dollars. Where? On Mars? He has added over a trillion dollars in deficit spending for each of the first four years of his administration. And, plans on adding another $4 trillion dollars over the next four years in his second term. Bringing the total national debt from the $10 trillion he inherited, to $16 trillion now, and to $20 trillion by the end of his second term. And he stands there with a straight face and chastises Republicans for being irresponsible for not wanting to pay our bills. And the press corp let him stand there and get away with it. Not one question challenging the truth and voracity of his claims.

On the contrary. He was irresponsible for not only maxing out the credit card, but for treating it like there is no maximum amount he can spend. He paints a picture of dire consequences if the U.S. doesn’t pay its bills. Like a child who misbehaves, he has to face the music. His actions have consequences. He is the one that overspent. Now, not only he, but all of us must pay the piper and face whatever dire consequences we have coming because we’re tearing up that credit card. Forget about raising the debt ceiling another dime. Deal with it. Only after that will this country be able to recover and get itself on the right track again.

He proved himself incapable of making the tough decisions needed to insure the sustainability of Medicare, Medicaid,  and Social Security. That is the epitome of irresponsibility. Instead, he demagogues Republicans for wanting to cut it. The hard truth is, those programs can’t be saved without cutting them somewhere and somehow. They no longer fit the demographics for which they were designed. Period. And they cost many times more than they were anticipated to be in the first place. Sooner or later, interest rates will return to ‘normal’ levels. And by the time that happens, the interest on our debt will be equal to or greater than our GDP. By any definition, that’s broke. That’s irresponsible.

Fact is, he is the irresponsible one. First by neglecting his duty to pass a budget and work by one for all of his first term. Having no budget to hold him back allowed him to run up the debt via CR’s (continuing resolutions) for every year of his administration. Paying off donors, unions, and bailing out his buddies created no jobs. It merely completed the quid pro quo. Wasting taxpayer dollars on one green energy bankruptcy after another. And enriching the bankruptcy lawyers in the process. It’s a win, win, lose. Green investors who are also donors and campaign bundlers win. The bankruptcy lawyers win for handling the bankruptcies with zero transparency. And the taxpayers lose all the way around.

One of the punch lines in this presser was his declaration that the government is part of the economy. As if that is a justification for the never-ending spending. He is right to the extent that the government is part of the economy. It is the overhead of the economy. It produces nothing. It only takes from the producers in taxes, and borrows and spends on growing the government even bigger. The cost of government used to be 18 percent of GDP. Then 20 percent under Bush 43. Now it is over 22 percent heading to 25 percent. The community organizer does not care that there isn’t enough money to sustain a government this big. Nor does he care that as government grows, the private sector gets smaller, along with our freedom and liberties.

That’s Obama’s vision of fundamental change in America. That’s what being irresponsible is. And there’s no way in hell he can embarrass me for not paying our bills by not raising the debt ceiling. It’s time for him to be spanked (figuratively of course), take the credit card away, and do what every other American has to do to survive within their means. Whatever happens is the result of his misbehavior. It won’t be the end of the world as we know it. It will mark the dawn of sanity in running the country.

Rep. Miller Upholds Oath To ‘Protect And Defend’

Within hours of the school shooting in Newtown, CT, the political Left have fed on the emotions of Americans to convince us obama_constitution_negative_libertiesthat they can stop this kind of crime if they can only ban so-called “assault weapons.” Problem for them is how to violate the Constitution and get away with it. That’s a BIG problem. Unlike our current President and his accomplices in this attempt, the mainstream media, Atty. Gen. Eric Holder and VP Joe Biden, our U.S. House Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL1), takes his oath and the Constitution seriously.

What Miller says on this subject . . .

Interest groups, politicians, and the Administration should not be exploiting a national tragedy to abandon liberty in pursuit of political expedience and advantage, rather, we should all comprehensively examine the policies, practices, and culture which lead to mass violence. Additionally, any attempt by the President to enact gun control by executive order would be an obscene abuse of power, ungrounded in Constitutional authority, and tantamount to a violation of his oath to support and defend the Constitution.

For nearly 240 years, the right to keep and bear arms has stood the test of time, and I will continue to stand by those courageous citizens who follow in the footsteps of generations of American patriots and who through their sacrifice dare defend and protect the written words of our Founding Fathers.

Gun Appreciation Day, You’re Invited

Saturday, January 19, 2013 is Gun Appreciation Day.
gun_appreciation_day

I have a better idea. Why not offer to take a non gun owner to the range with you?

If you have a fear of guns but are curious enough to check it out, or are interested in maybe getting a gun but don’t have a clue what caliber, size, kind, or brand to get, an hour at a gun range will answer those kind of questions. Maybe you don’t yet own a gun but want to see what it is like to shoot one, a state-approved gun range is the place to start. All gun ranges accept guests and first-time visitors. No invitation required. You’ll be able to see all types of weapons (the proper terminology for a ‘gun’ imho) there, and chances are, you’ll leave with a good idea of what you can or can not handle. The next (if not first) step is to visit a gun shop where people behind the counter can help in something best suited for you.

An hour at the gun range with your spouse or other family member, buddy, or budette, makes for great recreation while building your skill in shooting and handling. In fact, any responsible gun owner will tell you to visit the range often enough to be proficient and keep proficient in its use. The most important thing in owning a weapon is learning to respect it. You learn to handle it safely. You learn to shoot it accurately. You don’t play with it. After all, it is a lethal weapon.

Any non gun owner in the Pensacola area want to by my guest at the Escambia River Gun Club’s shooting range next Saturday? Use the contact form HERE and give me your contact information or come see me at Philly’s. Representatives of the media are welcome too! I’ll show you how to have fun and be safe at the same time. From what I and others at the range will bring, you’ll get a chance to see and/or shoot all sorts of firearms from small to large. Ear and eye protection is required at the range. Earplugs and other ear gear is available at the range or any gun shop. I have a spare set of earplugs and shooting glasses for you to use. New and unused of course. 🙂 I gotcha covered.

Obama’s 2008 campaign fined $375,000

Something happened last week that went virtually unreported. Not that it matters now that his second election is over, but there’s one thing that you can take away from this ‘story.’ Whether it is this report, or that report, the story is the same nearly word for word, by different ‘reporters,’ except for a few words changed in one paragraph or another. Who is copying who is not clear.

What is clear though is the emphasis given to the size of the fine for Obama’s 2008 campaign, by any reporting of the incident. It was the largest fine ever levied against a presidential campaign. But the reports consistently read like this; ‘one of the largest fines levied against a presidential campaign,’ and ‘The fines are among the largest ever levied on a presidential campaign…’ The timidity exhibited in the media’s inability to call the largest fine ‘the largest fine’ is amusing.

This is a love story without words. The music is Journey Of The Angels by Enya. Have a tissue handy.

What Made Jovan Belcher Murder the Mother of His Child? Was It Football or the Gun? Or Maybe Something Else…

The current climate in Washington is a perfect storm over gun violence. The theater shooting, the murder/suicide of Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend, the school shootings. It wasn’t the presence of a gun that was the cause. If a gun wasn’t available, something else would have or could have been used. The ’cause’ of these kind of crimes has more to do with America losing its soul than it does with the proximity of a firearm. The text below is from a Dec. 3, 2012 segment of the Rush Limbaugh Show. The topic then was about the Jovan Belcher murder/suicide. The video is from his TV show in Dec. 1992. Twenty years ago.

This clip comes from our December 17, 1992 show. The topic: a column by Bob Greene of the New York Daily News, who wrote about four teenagers who tortured, stabbed and killed an eight-year-old boy literally for the fun of it. Greene made several of the same points Rush had on the topic of valuing human life and healing “the dying national soul.”

That’s what originally caught Rush’s eye, but looking back at this episode, you can’t help but be shocked by just how prescient Rush was about the need to teach morality, not subjective values. He pointed out that Greene talks of the soul, and then pointed out that religion, not science, teaches of the soul – yet religion is now a taboo subject.

Rush continued: “Why do kids take guns into schools? Because they have no respect for the sanctity of life. I told you that time and time again. You can’t have a million-and-a-half abortions every year in this country for all the years that we’ve had, folks, without life itself being cheapened. We take kids to school, and they have guns and knives in their pockets. What do we do? We put metal detectors up in the schools… We have this killer disease out there and it’s behaviorally spread… We do not let people anymore be taught right from wrong, good from bad.”

This is more than seven years before Columbine, folks. Rush was truly on the cutting edge of societal evolution on this one, as you’ll see when you watch this video. Rush was trying to get people thinking about the devaluation of human life – in all its forms – and about what that kind of cheapening does to the souls of individuals and of nations.

No ‘Next Place’ For President Obama

“If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place, oblige it to control itself.”

Words of wisdom from a right-wing extremist no doubt. Actually, this was said by one of our real founding fathers, James Madison.

Steward No More

It is hardly arguable that President Obama ever acted as the steward of our country, the job every president is elected to be, and do. On the contrary, this president does not like this country as it was founded and as it is, or was. This president wants to be the ‘next’ founding father. He is doing what he set out to do. Change the constitution without laying a pen on it.

This is what he thinks of our Constitution. In his own words.

The constitution is a charter of negative liberties. . . . It doesn’t say what the federal government must do on your behalf.

Obviously, he detests the 10th Amendment too! The federal government must do nothing that the States don’t delegate it to do. That really pisses him off.

Bob Parks at Black & Right calls it right in yet another example of operating outside of Congress where the 2nd Amendment is concerned . . .

It appears a trial balloon has been launched regarding the possibility that President Obama may use “executives orders” or “executive action” to restrict gun availability and/or use by the American people.

Tactics mean doing what you can with what you have.
— Saul Alinsky

Quite the provocative act, but then again it’s by the book.

Terrorist Catch And Release Program

I know we’re all supposed to forget about the four Americans killed in Benghazi – that was ages ago, and we had a presidential election that validates all the lies Obama and his people told about the incident, so it’s a clean slate all around. Those four “bumps in the road,” as Obama called them, have been paved over with a steamroller.

But for anyone who still cares, all of those big investigations and partnerships with local law enforcement touted by the President have resulted in exactly zero terrorists in custody. The one and only person held thus far in connection with the attacks, was just released by Tunisian authorities.

Media Bully

Publishing the names and addresses of people who follow the law is not, or should not be, “news.” So for a newspaper to put an interactive map online of handgun permit holders, you have to wonder what their agenda might be. Aside from trying to perhaps, boost circulation, publishing this type of information serves only to intimidate citizens because they have a permit to own a handgun. They “justify” doing that because in New York that is considered to be “public information.” The obvious agenda of the newspaper is jumping on the anti-gun bandwagon. You don’t like guns? Fine, use your editorial pages to say so. But don’t go on the offensive against lawful citizens.

Aside from acting as a bully towards people who follow the law, the publishing of that information has put all of them at risk for any number of reasons. It’s a treasure trove for burglars looking to steal some weapons. But worse than just that, all law enforcement and who knows how many judges, active or retired, are now identified for the people who were arrested or sentenced by them. This puts them and their families at risk for retaliation.

I see this as an abuse of what public information is all about. Inquiring for public information and making that info available to the detail that they did, putting people at risk, and representing it as a news product is an abuse of the availability and purpose of public information, and an abuse of their constitutional right of freedom of the press. It is an abuse and invasion of privacy for the people listed, and should be actionable in civil court.

In support of the victims created by the actions of the newspaper, I have culled a few signs to make a point in support of the Second Amendment.dogsigngun

Surprise! Taxes On Working People Go UP

Truth is, if you knew why you got a payroll tax break in the first place, then you should be ashamed of yourself for not wanting to pay more taxes now. Long story short, you’ve been had. Senior citizens have been had. The low-information voters have been had. And President Obama got re-elected.

And here’s why. Playing Politics On The Backs Of Senior Citizens

But the fun deception doesn’t stop there. The so-called fiscal cliff deal greased the palms of those one-percenters. It’s crony capitalism at its best. Check this, How do you like your smaller paycheck?
