Global Warming Hysterics And Other Cartoons

Was perusing a lefty website hosted by a big climate change (or is it global warming?) the-earth-is-burning-up liberal Mike Papantonio. It’s a good site to visit to see what the wacko left is up to. And get a measure of their level of desperation.

Featured in this article is an artist’s rendering of what some cities might look like after a (wait for it) twelve-foot rise in sea level. Personally, I’d like to see the 25 foot version. Nevertheless, the purpose is to scare the daylights out of you based on a cartoonist’s rendering with a dash of science fiction.

Also in the news are these two articles. Antarctic ice is melting at record levels, never to recover again AND, Antarctic ice is growing at record levels. What?

Now for a sixth grade science class experiment. Ready? Fill up a glass with ice and water. Lots of ice. Fill it to the top of the glass. Now leave it at room temperature so the ice will melt. If you believe Mike Papantonio and the wacko left, the cup will overflow, similar to how the sea level will allegedly rise.

I’ll bet you a cheesesteak the cup does not overflow after all the ice has melted. Obama said he would lower the sea level. What a genius.

VA And Government-Run Health Care

Remember when proponents of the so-called Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) proffered the notion that Obamacare wasn’t anything new. That we already had government-run health care, citing the VA as the example. And that’s running so well. (I know, but that’s what they said.)

Not so well according to latest news report about veterans literally dying to see a doctor because the wait is too long. Some say the wait is so long because of veterans coming back from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Well, if that relatively small number of “patients” overwhelms the VA, just think for a moment how adding 40 million new “patients” will affect wait time throughout the country. And never mind the lies about your premium cost going down and keeping your plan, doctor, and hospital. Looking at government-run health care from a purely numbers angle, there won’t be better or faster care. And for you Obamacare proponents, this VA scandal should prove it.

No Free Pass In Politics

One thing is certain. If it happens in Washington, or anywhere there is an elected official, it is political. Politician, politics, political. Get it?

That’s not to say that anything or everything political is bad, good, or acceptable. The difference between what’s bad and what’s good is the legal and moral aspects of the action.

pelosi_orificeThe political Left as represented by Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-12) and  Elijah cummings_benghazi_hearingCummings (D-Md.) believe that matters like the Benghazi investigation is just politics, and not worthy of attention. She says that the investigation is a “distraction.” A distraction from Obama’s failed policies elsewhere I suppose.

But here’s the difference between what is a distraction and what is not. Democrats had Tom Delay attacked and prosecuted for doing political actions that were legal. In short, they were successful in criminalizing legal political conduct. No one was killed or injured. And DeLay paid millions to defend himself to the end of having the case finally dismissed. Pelosi and Obama weren’t saying ‘oh, that’s just political, there’s no there there.’

Where Benghazi is concerned, the regime used political power and influence to an immoral, if not illegal, end. To this day, no one knows what the Commander in Chief was doing when Americans were fighting for their lives in Benghazi.

What we do know is, the story we were told by him and his surrogates in the State Department turns out to have been false. It wasn’t a mistake that the story about the alleged video was said to be the cause of the attack. That was the lie created to shift responsibility from the regime and the State Department to some poor shlep in California. That was the immoral political calculation the regime made to keep the truth from the American public (another immoral political calculation) long enough to get through the upcoming presidential election. And that’s why the investigation into what happened before, during, and after the Benghazi attack is important. See the difference?

To quote the now infamous Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, “It is a subject that we are absolutely required to explore.

Secretary of State Clinton And Boko Haram

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with Chief of Staff Huma Mahmood Abedin

Now that the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram has kidnapped nearly 300 teenage girls, Christian girls, from school where they were taking their final exams, questions are popping up about how this group is still not on the list of terrorist organizations by the State Department. The answer to that lies in the State Department under the leadership of Hillary Clinton.

What Clinton didn’t mention was that her own State Department refused to place Boko Haram on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in 2011, after the group bombed the UN headquarters in Abuja. The refusal came despite the urging of the Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA, and over a dozen Senators and Congressmen.

One of the closest sources of Islamic sympathizers (aside from the President himself) in the Obama administration was Hillary Clinton’s Chief of Staff, Muslim Brotherhood sister Huma Mahmood Abedin, aka Anthony Weiner’s wife. President Obama and Huma Abedin are soul mates when it comes to appeasing Islamists, even terrorist ones, and the Muslim Brotherhood. Adding another terrorist group to the list of terrorist groups around the world would have contradicted the regime at a time when they are publicly saying that alQaeda is on the run. A purely political decision that cost American, and now hundreds of kids, lives.

AlQaeda is on the run. Towards us. Not away from us.

You needn’t look any further to explain candidate Obama’s apology tour in Egypt and their Arab Spring (turned Arab Winter), the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood there, the devolution of Libya and Syria, leading to the death of our Ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi, and replacing bad governments with alQaeda and their affiliates than Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

It’s A Threesome, Establishment GOP, Dems, U.S. Chamber

Gov. Palin was right to call the GOP establishment for gloating over recent primary battles. Instead, they ought to be trying to figure out what they need to do to gain their support. For without it, the Dems will prevail, and the Republican party and our country will become irrelevant in coming years. Of course, this presumes that the GOP establishment is not in bed with the Democrats on crony capitalism like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is.

Either for lack of the intestinal fortitude it takes to stand on principle, or the spigot of corporate money flowing their way has overcome them, it is the GOP establishment that has thrown away the conservative principles that they once held. The very same principles that gave them the record victory in the House and other elected positions in all 50 states.

The Chamber of Commerce, or the Chamber of Crony Capitalism as Mark Levin calls them, has made it clear whose side they are on. As if to say that the tea party is not pro-business, they are putting their money on candidates that will support the cronyism of the day. Economic freedom and the country be damned.

At the time, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce blamed tea party lawmakers for the economic damage caused by the government shutdown and vowed to pour money into campaigns to elect pro-business moderates against tea party candidates. The group said it would spend at least $50 million on campaigns to support centrist GOP candidates in 2014.

UAW Backs Off Of Tennessee VW Plant Organizing Loss

The United Auto Workers union on Monday said it was withdrawing its objection claiming undue outside political interference to the result of a February election it lost among workers at the Volkswagen AG plant in Tennessee.

UAW President Bob King, in a statement issued by the union Monday morning, said the process of objecting to the National Labor Relations Board could have dragged on for months if not years.

There’s never been a more big-labor-friendly administration than the current one. So why would they back down so quickly? With the fear of losing the Senate and maybe The White House in two years, maybe attacking a growing company on the behalf of Big Labor isn’t a winning proposition from a political standpoint? UAW President Bob King got the message, we’ll have more flexibility after the election. Which means using the federal government to make sure that the union is the only player in the game.

Gay Activists Most Intolerant, Fascists

PC or “politically correct” is just a mushy term for fascism. It means you shouldn’t, or in this case, can’t say or do anything that these activists don’t agree with. And if you do, then you’ll be made to pay for it. With your job, or worse. It’s as if they have their own version of the 1st Amendment. Politically, this is an invention of Saul Alinsky. Instead of debating the issues, you try to shut the opponent up, if not destroy him personally. This is exactly what happened here.

What Brendan Eich, CEO and creator of the popular web browser Mozilla did, was give $1000 to the Proposition 8 initiative in California, in 2008. That was the proposition that Californians approved by an overwhelming majority that said simply, that marriage is between a man and a woman. It was the same position that President Obama had at the same time. It was also what the 9th Circus Court of Appeals overturned.

But unlike Obama, he didn’t change his mind (for campaign cash). And unlike Obama, he didn’t go public and advocate his position. He merely exercised his right to participate affirmatively in the initiative, made a contribution to the cause, and went about his own business.

It was the little fascist hetero-phobic bigots that searched public records to find, then target for persecution, people who contributed to Prop 8.

The reaction from The White House about this is crickets. Any other President of the United States would be the first to publicly condemn that kind of retribution as being not only intolerant, but as an attack on the free speech guarantee of the 1st Amendment. You know, that document he swore on a stack of bibles to protect and defend.

I’m Fighting to Restore a Free Society

It’s been a few busy weeks in the news business, and a blessing to the Obama regime. The “news” has been consumed by an airplane that has gone missing somewhere in the far East with 239 people on board. The blessing to the regime is that the media wasn’t reporting on the debacle called Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act. Also known as the federal government growing, swallowing up 16 percent of the American economy and destroying the health insurance and health care industries, changing the role of government and its relation between it and the people.

On April 1st, President Obama had a pep rally in the Rose Garden which was characterized in the news media as a “victory lap” for Obamacare. Yes, the President is back to calling it Obamacare again. Never mind the numbers that the regime is touting as the big success. You know what they do with numbers.

If by success you mean that millions of Americans who have either had their insurance policies cancelled by the federal law, or are reacting under threat of penalty of the federal government for not buying an ACA approved insurance policy, “purchased” one. (In this context, purchased does not mean purchased.) That’s the administration’s definition of “success.” Suffice it to say that nothing the American people were promised that Obamacare would do has come to fruition, and can’t come to fruition.  So no news about the government over-stepping its constitutional boundaries is a good day for the regime.

And speaking of the government over-stepping its boundaries, below is an op-ed piece from the Wall Street Journal from an American who sees the danger, and is devoted to restoring the country to those principles (boundaries) spelled out in the Constitution. It’s a great read, in its entirety . . .

I’m Fighting to Restore a Free Society

By CHARLES G. KOCH

I have devoted most of my life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives. It is those principles—the principles of a free society—that have shaped my life, my family, our company and America itself. Unfortunately, the fundamental concepts of dignity, respect, equality before the law and personal freedom are under attack by the nation’s own government. That’s why, if we want to restore a free society and create greater well-being and opportunity for all Americans, we have no choice but to fight for those principles. I have been doing so for more than 50 years, primarily through educational efforts. It was only in the past decade that I realized the need to also engage in the political process.

A truly free society is based on a vision of respect for people and what they value. In a truly free society, any business that disrespects its customers will fail, and deserves to do so. The same should be true of any government that disrespects its citizens. The central belief and fatal conceit of the current administration is that you are incapable of running your own life, but those in power are capable of running it for you. This is the essence of big government and collectivism.

More than 200 years ago, Thomas Jefferson warned that this could happen. “The natural progress of things,” Jefferson wrote, “is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.” He knew that no government could possibly run citizens’ lives for the better. The more government tries to control, the greater the disaster, as shown by the current health-care debacle. Collectivists (those who stand for government control of the means of production and how people live their lives) promise heaven but deliver hell. For them, the promised end justifies the means.

Instead of encouraging free and open debate, collectivists strive to discredit and intimidate opponents. They engage in character assassination. (I should know, as the almost daily target of their attacks.) This is the approach that Arthur Schopenhauer described in the 19th century, that Saul Alinsky famously advocated in the 20th, and that so many despots have infamously practiced. Such tactics are the antithesis of what is required for a free society—and a telltale sign that the collectivists do not have good answers.

Rather than try to understand my vision for a free society or accurately report the facts about Koch Industries, our critics would have you believe we’re “un-American” and trying to “rig the system,” that we’re against “environmental protection” or eager to “end workplace safety standards.” These falsehoods remind me of the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s observation, “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.” Here are some facts about my philosophy and our company:

Koch companies employ 60,000 Americans, who make many thousands of products that Americans want and need. According to government figures, our employees and the 143,000 additional American jobs they support generate nearly $11.7 billion in compensation and benefits. About one-third of our U.S.-based employees are union members.

Koch employees have earned well over 700 awards for environmental, health and safety excellence since 2009, many of them from the Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. EPA officials have commended us for our “commitment to a cleaner environment” and called us “a model for other companies.”

Our refineries have consistently ranked among the best in the nation for low per-barrel emissions. In 2012, our Total Case Incident Rate (an important safety measure) was 67% better than a Bureau of Labor Statistics average for peer industries. Even so, we have never rested on our laurels. We believe there is always room for innovation and improvement.

Far from trying to rig the system, I have spent decades opposing cronyism and all political favors, including mandates, subsidies and protective tariffs—even when we benefit from them. I believe that cronyism is nothing more than welfare for the rich and powerful, and should be abolished.

Koch Industries was the only major producer in the ethanol industry to argue for the demise of the ethanol tax credit in 2011. That government handout (which cost taxpayers billions) needlessly drove up food and fuel prices as well as other costs for consumers—many of whom were poor or otherwise disadvantaged. Now the mandate needs to go, so that consumers and the marketplace are the ones who decide the future of ethanol.

Instead of fostering a system that enables people to help themselves, America is now saddled with a system that destroys value, raises costs, hinders innovation and relegates millions of citizens to a life of poverty, dependency and hopelessness. This is what happens when elected officials believe that people’s lives are better run by politicians and regulators than by the people themselves. Those in power fail to see that more government means less liberty, and liberty is the essence of what it means to be American. Love of liberty is the American ideal.

If more businesses (and elected officials) were to embrace a vision of creating real value for people in a principled way, our nation would be far better off—not just today, but for generations to come. I’m dedicated to fighting for that vision. I’m convinced most Americans believe it’s worth fighting for, too.

Obama Admin Quid Pro Quo’s v2.0 To Big Labor, Action Alert

logo

Dear Concerned American,Through Monday, April 7, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is accepting public comments on its proposed rule changes to union certification election procedures. The new election guidelines would make union certification elections as one-sided as possible by ambushing workers with quick-snap elections and invading workers’ privacy by forcing companies to hand over their addresses, phone numbers and shift schedules to union bosses. The bureaucrats at the Obama Labor Board are out of control. Demand they stop acting as an organizing tool for Big Labor.I hope you’ll act right away by signing the petition below opposing the ambush election scheme.

Sincerely,
Mark Mix

Stop the Obama Labor Board’s Ambush Election Scheme Petition

  • Whereas:   Ambush elections allow aggressive union organizers to conduct one-sided, intimidating unionization campaigns; and
  • Whereas:   Under the new rules, workers wishing to remain independent may only have days to counter years of union-boss propaganda before a quick-snap election; and
  • Whereas:   The new rules would force companies to turn over every worker’s address, phone number, and e-mail address to union operatives, who can use that information to make intimidating “home visits” just before the election; and
  • Whereas:   Union organizers may withdraw the election petition but keep the list of employees’ personal information to launch an abusive card check campaign at a later date;
Therefore: I urge you to withdraw the proposed rule amending representation-case procedures at docket NLRB-2011-0002.

Is Obama Immune From Impeachment?

It remains to be seen whether articles of impeachment will ever be brought against President Obama. But you see what happens to you, or what you are called, if you opine on the failures of Obama’s policies, and his deceiving the American people to the point of being awarded the “lie of the year,” or his making up laws around the legislative branch, and not enforcing laws enacted by the legislative branch, and for using regulatory agencies of the executive branch to harass and punish political opponents. Basically, for usurping powers not granted to him by the Constitution.

You are labeled a racist by the race hustlers, elected Democrats, and the compliant media. So it is no wonder that President Obama acts as a dictator with the impunity of someone who has been inoculated from impeachment. With immunity essentially granted him by virtue of the color of his skin. Jonathan Turley has another way to describe this immunity. He calls it a “cult of personality.”

What do you think the chances for impeachment would be, if not already done by now, if the President of such a lawless administration were White, from any political party?
