North Carolina Affirms Normal

The hoopla surrounding North Carolina’s HB2 (House Bill 2) legislation couldn’t be more confusing to decipher. And as usual, that is by design.

When you hear the way the mainstream media and opponents describe it, you would think that people are being denied ‘rights.’

North Carolina’s Republican-controlled legislature on Wednesday rejected a bid to repeal a state law restricting bathroom access for transgender people, which has drawn months of protests and boycotts by opponents decrying the measure as discriminatory.

The bill basically says that you use the bathroom based on what is between your legs, not what is between your ears. There are no transgender-bathroom1-1024x751“rights” of transgender people (less than 1% of society) to interfere with the rights of “normal” people to expect both privacy and security when using facilities like bathrooms, locker rooms, and common showers. When they were born, they had the same rights as everyone else. And still do.

What we have is a political movement to lower the bar of what is moral and right. There is nothing added for transgender or gender-confused people for them to deal with that they didn’t have 10, 50 or 100 years ago. And there’s no reason to change bathrooms for, or on, the 99% of the rest of society.

To that .3 % of society trying to bully the rest, get therapy or deal with it. And remember, diversity includes everyone.

Dept of Energy Embeds

One of the things people don’t like about Washington, and the Obama administration, is the way that political operatives are embedded into every agency of the Executive Branch.  So much so that the phrase “drain the swamp,” made popular by candidate Trump, now Pres.-elect Trump, was widely accepted by voters in November.

The politicization of the Dept. of Energy is in the news now. The Dept. of Justice is another, but that’s for another time.

Lately, the Obama administration fired a top scientist and intimidated staff at the Department of Energy in order to further its climate change agenda.

A top DoE scientist who liaised with Congress on the matter was fired by the Obama administration for being too forthright with lawmakers, according to the report, which provides an in-depth look at the White House’s efforts to ensure senior staffers toe the administration’s line.

So it’s no surprise that the Obama administration stiffed the incoming transition team’s request for names in the DoE who have been working in the area of Climate Change. Not only that, but Democrats are pushing back for them even wanting to know. The epitome of politicization of an agency. They claim it is over-reaching. I think it is important to know who is involved so the new administration can learn what it is they have to say on the subject. Regardless, it won’t take long for the new administration to find out who they are and what they know. Sooner or later, the swamp will be drained of the political embeds poised to fight against the administration.

Like Obama once said. Elections have consequences.

3 yr Old Shot, What’s Missing?

Since this road rage shooting Saturday night, the reporting about what or who to look for has been sketchy. First, we were told to be on the lookout for a black Chevrolet. There was no description of a human. The impression being left that either the car did the shooting or the shooter shot from inside the car and couldn’t be identified.

Well, this tweet was flashed on the TV screen tonight for a split second, in ABC’s evening news broadcast at the end of the 1 1/2 minute story. I went online to see the video to see what it was that I couldn’t read.  The video was there, but the tweet was not.

A scan of the Little Rock Police department’s Twitter feed produced the tweet that was flashed on the broadcast, and omitted from the archive copy. The reporter also omitted information about who the police are looking for. Here’s the subject tweet. Can you tell the detail that was omitted?

There is a reward, recently increased to $40,000.

What could possibly be the reason to omit the fact that a Black male was suspected of being the shooter?

Dishonest media.

It’s Official, Trump Won, Again

Final electors tally, Trump 304, Clinton 227.

Contrary to the wishes and expectations of the wacko Left and their media, Clinton had more defectors than Trump. Trump lost 2, Hillary lost 5.

electoral-college-final-2016-12-19
That makes Hillary a confirmed three-time loser.
  1. Jun. 2008
  2. Nov. 2016
  3. and Dec 2016
The biggest not-published news story today, and since the election Nov 8, is the voter intimidation and death threats perpetrated by the Clinton campaign and her supporters directed at the electors of the Electoral College. Not one statement by Hillary to accept the results and to stop tearing at the constitutional electoral process. You know, like she said two months ago when she was speaking about Donald Trump.

“A Date Which Will Live in Infamy”: FDR Asks for a Declaration of War

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, stunned virtually everyone in the United States military. Japan’s carrier-launched bombers found Pearl Harbor totally unprepared. President Franklin Roosevelt quickly addressed Congress to ask for a declaration of war as illustrated in this audio excerpt. Although he never mentioned Europe or the fact that Germany had by then declared war on the United States, the Pearl Harbor attack allowed him to begin the larger intervention in the European war he had long wanted.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt: Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation, and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to our secretary of state a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday the Japanese government also launched as attack against Malaya.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.

Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Wake Island.

And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As commander in chief of the Army and Navy I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. . .

And everyone thought that we would never see an attack on U.S. soil again. And until September 11, 2012, everyone thought we would always run to the aid of Americans under attack.

Net Job Losses Continue

The Bureau of Labor Statistics of the Department of Labor, Sec Reich’s old job, has released their data for the month of November 2016, along with some other data.

The big “news” out of it is the fake news about the record low unemployment rate.  Down to what it was when Bush left office at 4.6%. That, and 178,000 (non-farm) jobs were created in November.

The reason the unemployment rate dropped is not because more people found jobs. It is because 591,000 people, unemployed for so long, were not counted. They are considered (by the Labor Department) not part of the labor force. As if they died or something, so they are not factored in determining the unemployment rate. They’re still alive though, and when  you count them, the unemployment rate (the U-6) is 9.3%, not the 4.6% that the president and his media tout.

“The number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) was little changed at 1.9 million and accounted for 24.8 percent of the unemployed.” Let that sink in. Does this look like economic recovery to you?

The deception gets even more robust when the administration discusses job creation. When the narcissist-in-chief brags on his record sounding something like this; under my administration, we’ve had 78 months of consecutive job growth, or some such, he is not telling you the whole story.

It is hard to reconcile record job growth when there are 94 million Americans not working. And have been for years.

Here’s how it works for him. Imagine jobs in an economy being an interstate highway and Obama is at the on-ramp counting jobs being created. No one is counting the jobs being lost in the very same economy. That would be the off-ramp. He is also not telling you that people who have a job, and get a second or third job to support their family, that those extra jobs that one person has are counted as a new job created. On that subject, there are 511,000 more multiple job holders for Nov 2016 than there was in Nov 2015.

Not mentioned either is the fact that when you factor deaths, retirements, and population growth, a break-even for jobs being “created” per month is 250,000. Anything less than that is a net job loss. Here’s what this looks like for the last two  years. Out of 24 months, only 9 represented job growth.

screen-shot-2016-12-05-at-4-04-05-pm

So when you see the administration, or the nightly news people reporting that 178,000 jobs were created last month (in their cheery and upbeat tone), what they’re not saying is that the economy lost 72,000 more jobs last month. Obama’s legacy.

Dep. of Interior Goes Rouge On Dakota Pipeline

This is a prime example how the unelected bureaucracy, with its regulatory agencies, drive up cost of everything, including the Dakota Access oil pipeline in southern North Dakota.

After a decade of planning, research, and obtaining approvals for same, Obama’s Dept. of Interior throws a wrench into the project by using the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to deny an easement for the completion of the project.

The pipeline is largely complete except for the now-blocked segment underneath Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir.

But that’s not all it did. The Department also inserted a pack of Indians, protesters, with zero interest in the project into the negotiating and planning process.

According to a news release, Assistant Secretary for Civil Works Jo-Ellen Darcy said her decision was based on the need to “explore alternate routes” for the pipeline’s crossing. What? Now that it is already built is no time to explore alternate routes.

And anyone should even wonder why the Obama administration is the most unfriendly to business and industry?  Especially the energy industry. And why they move overseas wherever possible to avoid this kind of interference?
