Remember those “nice” and “decent” people Biden and Obama were talking about two days ago? Kissy kissy. Today Vice President Joe Biden told supporters that Republicans would “put y’all back in chains,” speaking before a “racially mixed” audience, during a campaign speech Tuesday in Danville, Va. It’s obvious, there is no shame possible from this administration from the top down. And when ‘the top’ is the President of the United states, it’s disgraceful.
Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter says the campaign has “no problem” with Vice President Joe Biden’s comment about putting people back in chains.
Folks, this is what a community organizer is. A president would not divide the American people against each other in every possible way he can think of, just so he can get re-elected. He got elected on “Hope and Change.” A post-racial society that HE was going to create in America. How’s that working out?
H/T Victor Davis Hanson: Racial comity got Obama elected. He hopes racial division will get him reelected.
After two weeks of news media reporting on the ‘Romney Kills Wives’ ad produced by Priorities USA, a PAC run by Bill Burton, former White House deputy press secretary, essentially accusing Romney of being responsible for a woman’s death and not caring about it, there still have been no comments from President Obama or Vice President Biden about the ad. That is, until yesterday.
Both men spoke out about their opponents character. On the same day. This was their attempt to distanced themselves from the ad, without saying a word about it.
At any rate, their statements do two things. First they inoculate them from any and all future PAC ads, no matter how ridiculous, bordering on primal fear, they might be. Because they’re on the record as saying, hey, Romney and Ryan, they’re good guys.
Biden called Rep. Ryan (R-WI) “a good and decent man.”
President Barack Obama said that Mr. Ryan is a “good man. He’s a family man.”
The other thing it does is give the green light to the PACs that support them. Regardless of the content.
The good news is, Rep. Paul Ryan is the man to effectively, and factually, communicate the agenda while effectively answering all the hyperbole from the Lefty PACs and the Obama/Biden campaign.
Do you think the media would be so uninterested in expecting a word of condemnation from the President and Vice President if they were a ‘R’ instead of a ‘D’?
Never mind this exhibition of their lack of moral standard to publicly denounce the implied message in that ad. No matter where it came from. The fact that they won’t, tells you where their heart is. For them, it is win at any cost and above all else. And that ‘Romney kills wives’ ad sets the new standard in political campaigns. It’s the Chicago way.
On the campaign trail, President Obama touted his takeover of the auto industry as a smashing success (for who?). He said the auto industry is roaring back, which it isn’t. And that GM is #1 again, which it isn’t. Then he said this . . .
I said I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back and GM is number one again. So now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs not just in the auto industry, but in every industry. I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China. I want them taking root in places like Pueblo.
President Obama just illustrated the power of the bully pulpit. Knowingly or not, the content of what he said will have a negative effect on an already stagnant economy.
The business climate now is in survival mode. Not hiring employees and not planning to expand. The administration is doing everything it can to depress private business by Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. The FUD Factor. And it has been that way since before President Obama was inaugurated.
The power grab the Obama administration has perpetrated over various industries and companies within his first 100 days is sending only one message to business. Watch out, you could be next.
President Obama’s recent statement answers the final question. Who, what business, or what industry, could be next? Given the chance, he wants “every industry.” After finally admitting to how he truly intends to change this country, there is no end to the FUD Factor where private sector business is concerned.
Until the FUD Factor is eliminated, there will be
no economic rebound
higher unemployment
college grads without jobs
higher energy costs
higher food cost
depressed home values
“kids” returning home
You know, the whole economic scheme that Obama said “works”.
Couldn’t have said more to perpetuate the fear, uncertainty, and doubt to American business. He’s already got his thumb on energy-related industries. Preventing (high-paying, union) oil industry jobs from being created, and kicking coal miners out of a job. Now, it’s everyone else.
This should come as no surprise to anyone that knows these two, the hemisphere’s idiot Hugo Chavez, and Sean Penn, our American version.
Penn is campaigning for the dictator responsible for oppressing Venezuelans and killing its economy through confiscation and nationalization of industries including energy, food, and the media. Now, Venezuelans can’t afford gas for their cars, the supermarket shelves are empty, and any opposition to Chavez comes from outside the state-operated radio and television.
I don’t know that Sean Penn campaigning for Chavez amounts to any kind of treason. It does, however, make him a soul brother to the hemisphere’s idiot.
There’s never been a more glaring example of the way Liberals think than the statement The Five’s Bob Beckel made on Friday’s show.
Here’s the context. They started discussing the way that Chick-fil-A was being persecuted in the media by Democrat politicians for something as bad as having an opinion. An opinion, btw, held in common with most of the country. But apparently not by most high-profile Democrats. Like Rahm Emanual and that religious bigot in Boston Thomas Menino.
I can’t accuse Rahm Emanual of being a religious bigot because at least he was honest about it where his city, Chicago, is concerned. He said that the Chick-fil-A president does not represent the values of Chicago. Judging by the murder rate among Eric Holder’s “people” there, he’s right.
Getting back to Beckel and Liberals. Beckel said “that guy, a high-profile rich business man like that, has no place in the public square.” Here is Liberal-think in one simple statement. First Amendment aside, he is 1) attacking business, 2) attacking success, and 3) telling us who they think should not voice a public opinion. They of course only “approve” their opinions. No, that’s not exactly it. They also want to be the only voice heard in so-called public discourse.
I just thank Bob Beckel for illustrating so clearly how the Left’s belief system is incumbered by nothing. Including the Constitution.
GDP ‘growth’ fell from 2 to 1.5% for the second quarter ending June. Or to put it another way, a 25% decrease from the first quarter. That’s how it would be described if it was Bush in the White House. And arrgh! We’re headed for a depression! But what do we get? From the architect himself, it is “a step in the right direction.” And, I need another trillion in “stimulus” spending to keep the economy moving “forward. ”
This from the guy that pretends that “taxing the rich” is something fiscally responsible to do for the economy. Something ‘fair,’ given that we are now over $15 trillion dollars in debt.
Let’s talk about being ‘responsible.’ Truth is, Obama has incurred over a trillion dollars in new debt each year he has been in office. And his 10 year budget projection has no year where the annual deficit increases by less than a trillion dollars. In fact, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan that they have no plan to reach a balanced budget. Ever! Completely ignoring the debt bomb on year 11 caused by baby boomers entering Social Security and Medicare.
In a House Budget Committee hearing on the subject, here’s what Geithner told committee chairman Paul Ryan.
We’re not coming before you to say we have a definitive solution to our long-term problem. What we do know is we don’t like yours.
At current spending levels,”taxing the rich”, as Obama puts it, would generate enough revenue to run the government for a total of eight days. Does that sound like a solution to the debt problem? How is that being responsible?
Now if these economic and political facts do not illustrate that his “tax the rich” campaign serves no economic purpose, is nothing more than his divide-and-conquer strategy to stay in The White House via class warfare, I don’t know what can.
UPDATE:
Parting Shot for the AP
Couldn’t help but notice the slug in the Chicago Tribune’s article compared to the title in the dead-tree version and online.
The slug: chi-few-think-sluggish-us-economy-will-strengthen-soon-
The title: GDP: Economy grew at sluggish 1.5% rate in 2Q
In fact, that AP article is so rich (none of it good for Obama) in the condition of the economy and the administrations’ performance that it requires a post of its own. The bad news in it for Obama is dispersed over the entire article to avoid a connection to Obama. Except this one line in a 971 word article “The lackluster economy is raising pressure on President Barack Obama in his re-election fight…”
Amongst the class warfare tax rhetoric, repeating (known) debunked stories about Bain and Romney, was this most unreported story on Friday . . .Obama just gutted the welfare reform act of 1996 by eliminating the work requirement. No debate or involvement of congress.
The Ruler Barack Hussien Kardashian Obama makes laws by himself, illegal immigration, welfare. And decides which law he doesn’t want to follow, AZ v United States.
This reform was very successful. TANF became the only welfare program (out of more than 70) that promoted greater self-reliance. It moved 2.8 million families off the welfare rolls and into jobs so that they were providing for themselves. Child poverty fell, and single-parent employment rose. Recipients were required to perform at least 20–30 hours per week of work or job preparation activities in exchange for the cash benefit.
Now, Obama’s HHS is claiming that it can waive those work requirements that are at the heart of the law, and without Congress’s consent.
Who knew there was a groundswell of opinion to define watching TV or sleeping as ‘work?’ Working hard to grow a population dependent on the government? Check. It also shows that Obama is not restrained by the law and, is no advocate for the poor. Taking steps to help dismantle a productive family is not helpful. It’s disgraceful. Screw the constitution.
In 2010, the last time “the Bush tax cuts” were scheduled to expire (remember the Democrat-controlled congress wouldn’t pass those tax rates into law unless they were ‘temporary?’) President Obama said that raising taxes during a recession would be counter-productive to any recovery. A correct statement. So the bill was extended two years. Notice too how tax cuts expire and tax increases don’t.
Now two years later and in another campaign season, his stump speech is that it was those “Bush tax cuts for the rich” that caused our economic trouble. That, and his claiming ignorance. Ignorance that the economy was so bad that he and his advisers did not know how bad things were. You’ve heard it. It’s all Bush’s fault.
Today Obama wants to keep the tax rates for the ‘middle class.’ Have you noticed how this president calls the Bush tax cuts as “tax cuts for the rich?” The fraud he is perpetrating on the American people is that the Bush tax cuts were tax cuts for EVERYONE, including the middle class. Sans the class warfare.
The ‘class warfare tactic’ demands that they be called tax cuts for the rich, and, it is Obama who is going to give the middle class a tax cut. The reality is the tax rates that Bush signed were tax cuts for the middle class too! Obama likes those, and wants to own them.
The only way Barack Obama can get away with this fraud is the legacy media will allow him to get away with it.
How’s this explanation work for you? ‘It was those tax cuts that caused the economy and jobs to tank. That’s why I want to extend them.’
I don’t know how President Obama sleeps at night when he continues to lie to us to advance his agenda. He does it because it works on the ‘less informed.’ Or as Boortz refers to them, the ‘dumb masses.’ It’s unfortunate for America that Community Organizer Barack Obama can’t be honest about it. And he deserves to be re-elected for that?
It wasn’t that long ago we were hearing about the ‘billion dollar‘ campaign that Obama was going to have this time around. Now, the Obama campaign is not even looking competitive.
In an attempt to supplement the less than stellar campaign donor performance, the campaign has turned to capitalism via merchandising. With every issue lodged against Obama over his record, a campaign fundraising letter is generated with a desperate tone of having to ‘fight back’ the bogeyman that wants to . . .
send children brought into the country by their illegal alien parents back to Mexico.
The country is not fair to them.
And Republicans want to take away the health care that he wants to give them.
And Republicans want to take away college Pell Grants that he wants to give them, so families can no longer afford a college education for their children.
And Republicans want to take away the Social Security and Medicare of millions of Hispanic seniors citizens who depend on it.
President Obama just tweeted: ¡Obama! Show your support for the President: http://OFA.BO/Zd8XBe
Over the last four years, President Obama has been focused on restoring basic economic security to Hispanics and all Americans.
I don’t believe even they believe that now. They are living the reality that more Hispanics are unemployed now than when President Obama began. And all the campaign can say is that he “has been focused” on bla bla bla. They know (don’t they?) that Obama concentrated first on getting Obamacare enacted. Not the economy. In fact, he said that fixing the economy depends on first getting health care ‘under control.’ That was his justification for pushing government controlled health care first, over economic recovery. It’s the hype, the lies, that isn’t flying any more. Hispanics in America hear the same words and see the same poor, and worsening, results.
And to show his compassion for poor, out-of-work Hispanics, he is asking them to chip in $5 for a stinking button. If they had their job, the Obama campaign wouldn’t be looking for money from people who can least afford to give it. Who’s helping who here?
Sam Donaldson, renowned reporter for ABC, was interviewed yesterday by a CNN host. The subject was about people who disagree with President Obama over his lawless move to flip the bird to Congress with his ‘no deportation’ edict from the Rose Garden.
True to form, Sam says they disagree with Obama simply because he is black. That they are just a bunch of racists if they disagree with Obama. It’s not, he said, because of Obama’s policies (and extraconstitutional actions). The CNN host ended the segment there, saying how relieved he is to see that Sam and he are in agreement. They’re all just racists if they disagree with the president.
To illustrate the absurdity of the claim, CNN and the Sam Donaldson’s of the world would have you believe of these Americans now:
We would be more than willing to welcome cap-and-trade with open arms, even if we paid a thousand dollars or more extra every year for our energy use, if Barack Obama were only white.
We would be dancing in the streets celebrating the dawning of government control of our health care if only Barack Obama were white.
It would be just dandy if government bureaucrats rationed health care for our parents, as long as the president is white.
We would jump at the chance of the government owning ALL of the auto manufacturing companies .. not just General Motors … if the president just didn’t have dark skin.
We would applaud those ACORN workers giving tax avoidance advice to a pimp and his prostitute if the workers hadn’t been black.
Most Americans – even ones that don’t pay income taxes now – would be more than willing to give 70% of everything they earn to the federal government when asked … so long as they are asked by a white president.
We would have been thrilled, I tell you … THRILLED to have all of those Islamic goons being held at Guantanamo be not only released, but sent to be school resource officers at our local government schools, if only a white president put that plan in motion.
It would be OK if a white president stood back and allowed Iran to build its coveted nukes … we’re only unhappy about that because a black president is doing it.
Deficits? We don’t care about deficits! Make our children and grand children and great grand children pay through the nose for our president’s spending habits … just so long as the president isn’t black.
Government pork? Like we actually care? Look … you folks in Washington can spend all the money you want – how about more studies of the mating habits of Polish Zlotnika pigs? – just make sure it’s not a black president who signs the spending bill into law.
We wouldn’t care if all illegal aliens were counted twice in the next Census … just so long as the president isn’t black.
Those Black Panther thugs who threatened voters in Philly? The ONLY reason we’re upset that they were given a pass is because Barack Obama is black.
Every single member of the president’s cabinet could be a tax cheat as far as we’re concerned … just so long as the president is white.
Forced unionization? Bring it on! We love card check! We love the idea of union goons threatening and intimidating workers to sign a card saying they want to belong to a union! What we don’t like is that a black president is pushing this idea.
Single-party talks with that Gargoyle that runs North Korea? It’s about time we legitimized that little pipsqueak. We’re only mildly upset here because the person who is doing that happens to be black.
More regulation of the finance sector? We could care less! For all we care you can nationalize the banks and decree that only the government can make home loans .. .and you can even apportion those home loans on the basis of race if you want to … just so long as the president is white!
Minimum wage? Like we care about that? Raise it to $15 an hour if you want! Just give us our white president back.
But I do weep for where this President has taken this country. He and his party using the race card against any and all opposition to advance their agenda is a disgrace. Which may explain to some extent why the media has been more a cheerleader than an inquisitor when it comes to the President and his policies. Otherwise they would have to characterize themselves as being racist.
There is nothing post-racial about Obama’s administration, Democrats in Congress, and his supporters. And every second that passes where Obama himself does not talk it down and put an end to it, is just digging their racial hole deeper.
Belly up to the counter. Politics are on the menu and Ross is on the grill.
