In a matter of three short months since Bruce S. Gordon resigned as President of the NAACP, the organization is seeing a negative cash flow, and laying off 40% of its employees. La Shawn Barber thinks things might improve if they made it 100%.
The organization outlived its usefulness eons ago, wasting money, time, and space with frivolous junk (and parties), some of which is deeply embarrassing.
Since the expunging of Bruce Gordon from the NAACP, I couldn’t agree more.

We now see the results that ‘Dismay’ gets when it comes to Iran. That’s almost as powerful a weapon as being ‘really really upset’ about it. Nearly two years later and the problem has only gotten worse and the UN has demonstrated its usual incompetence.
CBS is scratching their heads over why the perky one’s ratings are so dismal. Still in denial over their poor choice, experts look for other reasons, like you. You sexist, racist white guys don’t like hearing news from a woman. So says CBS News Senior Vice President, Standards and Special Projects Linda Mason.
I’m just surprised at how, almost 30 years after I worked on the “Evening News” as the first woman producer, that Katie is having such a tough time being accepted by the public, which seems to prefer the news from white guys, and now that Charlie’s doing so well, from older white guys. I guess they want the reassurance of a Walter Cronkite.
Linda, could it just be a lightweight with an agenda that people do not want?  
Katie’s brand is power legs and a stack of papers in her lap. A far cry from Walter Cronkite. I don’t see a racial component in this equation. Seems to me they are also in denial about why they have a paucity of minority news readers on the air. As for Katie, the Canadian cable news program called Naked News may be an option. There is more diversity there than on CBS.
The Seattle Times titles the story “Limbaugh draws fire on Obama parody.”  He may be drawing fire, but not from anyone who counts.  It’s only the Soros financed Media Matters and their far-left ilk who are making something out of it.  Them and some callers to Al Sharpton’s talk radio show. As for Obama, he thinks it’s not to be taken seriously.Â
Obama’s campaign called the song “dumb,” although a spokesman said the campaign doesn’t think anyone is taking the song seriously.
“It’s not the first dumb thing said during the course of this campaign and it likely won’t be the last,” Obama spokesman Bill Burton said. “But, frankly, I don’t think anyone takes this too seriously.”
It’s a hilarious parody that correctly characterizes the Sharpton / Obama dynamic.  Â
Limbaugh predicted the lefts’ reaction, including the ones who will bring it up. And viola, here it is. The Limbaugh Institute does know how to push the left’s buttons.  It was also educational to watch.

“People feel that just because I’m African-American, I should be a Democrat,” McCall, 52, said Monday, two days after being elected without opposition during the county party convention.

He would have been fired anyway due to the lack of first amendment supporters. The 20 second blurb heard by maybe 300,000 people once, turned into a 24/7  stream heard by the entire country, continuously. That is all it took for advertisers to get out of dodge. And that’s all it would have taken for CBS to fire Imus. CBS isn’t a non-profit organization (not intentionally anyway) so the choice as to what to do with Imus quickly became a no-brainer.Â
I have a big problem with the rhyming Reverends, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton though. When neither of those Reverends would accept his apology, and continued to literally hit to the streets and picket (a la last century) calling for his ouster because, they say, he is a racist.  They want to, and did, bring his career to a screeching halt, in disgrace.  Whatever happened to rehab? That used to be where things like this went. But guess what, this doesn’t solve the problem. Worse, it doesn’t even address the problem.
Jason Whitlock has a different take on this Imus debacle. It’s about the problem.  Jason says “Imus isn’t the real bad guy. Instead of wasting time on irrelevant shock jock, black leaders need to be fighting a growing gangster culture.”
Thank you, Don Imus. You’ve given us (black people) an excuse to avoid our real problem.
You’ve given Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson another opportunity to pretend that the old fight, which is now the safe and lucrative fight, is still the most important fight in our push for true economic and social equality.
You’ve given Vivian Stringer and Rutgers the chance to hold a nationally televised recruiting celebration expertly disguised as a news conference to respond to your poor attempt at humor.
Thank you, Don Imus. You extended Black History Month to April, and we can once again wallow in victimhood, protest like it’s 1965 and delude ourselves into believing that fixing your hatred is more necessary than eradicating our self-hatred.
The bigots win again.

The media itself is right up there in credibility as say, oh, Howard K. Stern or Don Imus. While they ALL are consumed with Anna Nichole Smith and who nailed her, and Don Imus and the race baiters nailing him, and how can we possibly forget American Idol, the war on terror continues to chug along and new problems with Iran are developing, but you’ll have to look elsewhere to learn about it.
While all that is going on, Australia has doubled its troop size in Afghanistan, to (argh) win the War. Our general in Iraq is reaching out to Iraqis for their help, and, they are increasingly getting it. There are signs that the new plan in Iraq is working. And conditions in Iran are coming to the point that many of the same reasons that we went into Iraq (support of terrorism with training and hardware, development of WMD’s, defying international community with respect to nuclear development, and more), are present in Iran now.  I think I know where all those holes in the sand came from.
As further proof as to how powerful and entrenched in democratic politics the far left wackos have become, the Edwards campaign has pulled out of a democratic primary debate hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus and FOX, but will participate in one hosted by the CBC and CNN. Why?Â
Online activists and bloggers have assailed Democratic leaders who have tried to work with Fox News, saying the cable news network is biased.
Because of the new dirty word in politics, FOX. It also shows a lack of spine when it comes to a willingness to address people he ostensibly wants to lead as President. Apparently Sen. John Edwards only wants to represent and be president of about half of the country.

If it weren’t for the blogosphere and Snoop at PoliticalPartyPoop, I may have never heard what a famous liberal radio talker said about some black members of a college basketball team.  I don’t listen to his liberal rants of hating Bush and conservatives which has become fashionable over the years. Like anything Air America puts out, three minutes is about all I can take.  But on his nationally syndicated radio show, also simulcast on MSNBC, Don Imus called them nappy headed hos with tattoos. I’m paraphrasing his statement, but here’s MSNBC’s coverage of the incident.Â
The National Association of Black Journalists, the editor-in-chief of Essence magazine and a New York sports columnist joined the chorus against Imus.
“What he has said has deeply hurt too many people — black and white, male and female,†said NABJ President Bryan Monroe. “His so-called apology comes two days after the fact, and it is too little, too late.â€

ational Association of Black Journalists, among others, are calling for his ouster. I’m not holding my breath. Liberals never eat their own, they just swallow it and the media gives them a pass. It’s a ‘whatever it takes’ attitude and everyone else be dammed.  Remember Robert (KKK) Byrd’s statement he made on the floor of the Senate, something about there being ‘white n*****s too?’ Got a total pass. I wonder what he thinks of Imus in light of this episode? And who is Imus to talk about nappy heads anyway?Â
Pick any conservative or republican radio personality who would (and I don’t know any who would) make such a statement and it would blow Anna Nichole Smith to the back page and all of TV would be consumed with it instead. Frankly, I don’t understand why this issue hasn’t risen to the front page and become the lead story in the CBS, NBS, and ABS morning and evening ‘news’ programs. That’s not exactly true, I do understand, there’s politics in play when it comes to the media. It’s more than just a double standard. Just how far will they go to keep a 90%+ voting block intact? And how much more crap will that 90% take?
Update:04/18/07. They did eat their own. I sure got that one wrong. Never underestimate the ‘power’ of Jesse Sharpton.  It must be re-justification time again.Â

Leftist black racists in Oklahoma don’t want other blacks to be free. Some 2,800 blacks in Oklahoma have just been racially rejected by the Black Caucus of the Oklahoma legislators. How in the world did this come about?
