Race Card For William Jefferson (D-LA)

It’s not the $90,000 of marked bribe money in your freezer in your Washington D.C. home, it’sRace Card where you were caught.

Rep. William Jefferson accused the Justice Department of bringing corruption charges against him in Virginia to reduce the chance of drawing black jurors.

“If Jefferson objects to the alleged practice of attempting to influence the racial make-up of the jury, why is he attempting to influence the racial make-up of the jury himself?” h/t Amy Ridenour, National Center Blog

Geraldo On Sanctuary Cities

It finally happened, Geraldo answers. Geraldo spent a few minutes on H&C last week on the subject of sanctuary cities. He obviously supports the notion of sanctuary cities if you read the transcript of the show.Geraldo Rivera and Rep. Tom Tancredo on Hannity & Colmes, 8/22/07

Neither he nor Alan Colmes could grasp the argument that the murders of the three college students were preventable. Whereas all the other crimes that Geraldo and Colmes wanted to compare this crime to, was an attempt to shape the anti-sanctuary cities people as racists. The fact that they were illegal didn’t matter to them. But when it is preventable, it does matter.

It shouldn’t be hard to understand that, when an illegal alien enters the criminal justice system for a felony, the first 30 counts are not freebies. But had this thug been turned over for deportation when he committed his first felony, he would not have been in Newark to commit the execution-style murders of three out of four human beings, who just happen to also be American citizens.

But this is just what I expected from Geraldo if he were ever to talk to this subject. Geraldo has validated that now.

Not Much Diversity In The ‘Center’

The group claims to be the political center of the Democrat party. But people attending the Yearly Kos convention, a gathering of the wacko left blogosphere, noticed an elephant in the room. It’s pretty white.

“It’s mostly white. More male than female,” says the former high school math and science teacher turned activist. “It’s not very diverse.”

“I was completely surprised — shocked even. The political blogosphere isn’t as white as the people in this convention.”

“I hate using the word ‘diversity.’ I don’t know what we use there. But what we definitely need are voices from different communities,” she says. And the problem, she adds, stretches beyond ethnic and gender inclusion. There’s a socioeconomic gap, too.

La Raza’s Wave Of Hate

A ‘wave of hate‘ is how La Raza, an Hispanic advocacy group, characterized the will of the American people when they said NO to the “comprehensive immigration bill” that was ultimately defeated in Congress. Concerning the response of legal Americans to the under-the-table trick called an immigration bill, Cecilia Munoz, of the National Council of La Raza said this . . .

“That had an extraordinary impact in the Senate, and as a nation, I don’t think we should be comfortable with the fact that the United States Senate responded to what was largely a wave of hate.”

It is obvious who the hate mongers are here, it is Cecilia Munoz and her La Raza group. To call people who want a secure border and legal immigration as hateful is just . . . hateful. It’s hard to blame La Raza alone for that attitude because they’re saying the same things that proponents of that awful bill have said about Americans too! Pandering to special interest groups, like the open borders crowd and the illegal alien invasion has blurred the picture of national security and legal immigration.

NCLR’s convention continues today with addresses by the two leading Democratic presidential candidates, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois. With Hispanics already considered a key swing voting group, both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama are trying to win those voters for themselves in the primaries and for Democrats in the general election.

Just one question left to be answered. Where’s the fence?

Not By The Color Of Your Skin

Two cases where public schools were using race in determining school admissions and which cases were upheld by two lower courts were overturned by the Supreme Court on Thursday, July 28, 2007.

  1. Seattle, which Roberts said had never been under court orders to desegregate, used race as a tiebreaker in assigning students to schools where one race or another predominated.
  2. Jefferson County, Ky., comprising greater Louisville, had been subject to court-ordered desegregation, but the order was dissolved in 2001 when the district was declared “unitary.” But the district still used race in deciding on transfer requests among schools.

Sounds like a decision that the leader of the old school civil rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., would applaud. Unfortunately, forty years later, Dr. King’s message has been lost in translation. All the Democrat candidates wishing to be President of the United States had a ‘debate’ at the prestigious Howard University, a Black university in Washington, D.C. which by all accounts turned out to be a pander-fest, with a few condescending and outright insulting comments skewed between.

Nobody plays the race card like a liberal, and every one of our Democrat challengers, the ones with the most to lose, stepped up to the plate to call the Supreme Court’s decision as turning back the clock. Here they are, being their usual dishonest and racial-pimping selves. The two items above is all that the court ruled on, those were the only issues. The ‘turning back the clock’ BS is meant to incite racial tension and to focus hate at Republicans and the administration. And judging by the applause of those present, it did just that. That’s way easier than concentrating on having schools that teach kids to be the next generation of leaders instead of the next generation of drop-outs, and all else that goes with that.

In reality, that place so unfamiliar to this bunch of Presidential wanna-bees, no clock was turned back. It went forward. What else could you call them but race pimps when you know that . . .

the Court stopped short of overturning its precedents on either school desegregation or affirmative action, as Justice Anthony Kennedy, in a key separate opinion, said race could still be a consideration in limited instances in devising school programs to end racial isolation and encourage diversity.

Eugene Robinson’s take pretty much sums up how the uninformed can be so dangerous to the even less-informed in matters such as race. The title of his article on this subject? “Blocking The Schoolhouse Door.” From what you’ve learned so far, do you think his story has the right title?

He says the court does not consider promoting racial diversity in the nation’s public schools a particularly worthy goal. Considering worthy goals is not what the court is for. And framing the court in this way to the Black community is more than being dishonest. The court is there to decide the law. Speaking of the Bush administration and the court, Robinson says “all they need to do is win the vote of one of the court’s more moderate members and — voila — history can be unmade.” Inflammatory? Yes. They are the words of an angry but passionate black man. And also theoretical hyperbole that plays the race card like a Stradivarius.

What’s troubling for liberals is that they are beginning to understand how the judiciary interprets the laws, without an agenda, and without creating more laws. They can’t deal with that. They operate by by-passing the legislative branch by using the courts to advance their agenda instead. They exhibit no trust in nor respect for the American people for behaving like that. For Democrats, a judiciary that operates correctly means (politically) mortal defeat for them, unless and until they learn to trust in the people (the legislature) to make the laws, and trust in the courts to base decisions on those laws. No more adding other things you think would be ‘good.’ That’s what legislatures are for.

And more liberal dogma on diversity, Robinson says “I think the educational process benefits from diversity, and all students are better served in an integrated classroom.” He can think that but he’d be wrong. Better education makes better students, not the color of your neighbor. How many whites are at Howard University again? Isn’t that a Black school? Isn’t someone afraid that they won’t learn right if a white kid isn’t sitting next to him?

It is the curriculum and the quality of teaching we can provide our kids that should be the focus. Putting emphasis on the student’s skin color instead of the student, and on the ‘educational process’ instead of the student, does more to appeal to the soft bigotry of low expectations than to educate the student. If the student’s educational interests were the focus, there would be no objection to the school choice concept. Instead, the focus remains a racial issue on one hand and a union issue on the other, and our kids are caught in the middle and dropping out of school.

Democrats On Race, To Be A Liberal

Politics and political thought today is so much a product of what is shaped by the mainstream media, the class warfare pimps, and the victim-class pimps, that there really is two Americas when it comes to politics. Not like what John Edwards was talking about, but in terms of what is happening, and what you are being told is happening. Those two. Of all major civil rights legislation enacted since the beginning, there is only one political party advancing the cause for equal rights. If the MSM would do a little research on the subject, they would find that it is the Republican party.

Recommended viewing for liberals. The videos in this post illustrate how liberals think and why they operate the way they do. And the National Black Republican Association’s piece that shows the difference between Democrats and Republicans and what drives them. The videos illuminate the divide that exists between what the MSM tells us about the Democrat and Republican parties on racial issues, and the truth.

A Heritage Foundation piece, “How Modern Liberals Think” by Evan Sayet. Thanks to Snoop for the inspiration.

And from the National Black Republican Association, “Republicans Promote Prosperity – Democrats Promote Dependency” are interviews with Herman Cain and Wayne Perryman.

Liberals Free Speech

Liberals never cease to amaze me at how easily and effortlessly they get away with discrimination in one form or another. This time it is Latinos.

Democrats Chris Dodd and Bill Richardson are objecting to a requirement that all presidential candidates in a debate on the Spanish-language television network Univision speak in English.

In a democratic presidential debate scheduled for Sept 9 in Miami, the sponsor, Univision television network is prohibiting everyone from speaking Spanish. It doesn’t take much to provoke a breech in the first amendment and not think a thing about it.

I don’t care who is sponsoring the debate. This is even worse than them all boycotting a FOX sponsored debate because they are cowards and don’t like the network. Every one of those candidates should step up and demand that Univision retract that restriction to speech. This time it would be for a credible reason, like discrimination.

It’s a good thing they don’t sell cheesesteaks. Just ask Joey Vento at Geno’s.

Update 6/19/07: Title change from Democrats to Liberals. It’s a better fit and not meant to disparage Democrats.

Congress Opens Cold Case Unit For Civil Rights Era Crimes

Congress moved on Tuesday toward setting aside $100 million to create a Justice Department unit devoted to investigating unsolved murders from the civil rights era.

A bill named in honor of slain black teenager Emmett Till, HR 923, is now advancing through the House and Senate, would establish a division of FBI agents and federal prosecutors who would focus strictly on the racially motivated slayings.

I never saw this coming, what with immigration and the war and Paris Hilton consuming the news, but yeah, why not? 40 years later and a different set of eyes may yield some progress and make some justice while the perps are still alive.

UN Says WeatherMan Caused Genocide

Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the new Sec. General of the United Nations, found a way to excuse genocide in Darfur. It’s all because of that super anti-hero WeatherMan, also referred to as ‘global warming.’ Yes, you’ve seen his power to corrupt the government in Khartoum and allow radical Muslims to run through villages raping and pillaging innocent native Africans, many of whom happen to believe in Christianity. After four years of genocide, Ban has found an excuse to not get involved and absolve the UN for its incompetence. After all, the UN can’t change the weather even though they think that we (the United States) can. It’s all our fault of course.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the slaughter in Darfur was triggered by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the horizon

His answer seems to be to continue the ‘blame America’ mantra, using the ‘global warming’ issue, to excuse the genocide and its perpetrators as something too big for them to solve. The UN isn’t up to the task of squelching the genocide because it means squelching and punishing the radical Muslims. It’s not in their DNA.
