Hillary Clinton, What Makeover?

It only makes sense that Sen. Clinton has to have a ‘makeover‘ to show her (mid-western) roots. I hearken back to her first Senate race in New York when she found out she was Jewish, and a New York Yankees fan. Chameleons don’t do makeovers.

[T]the Clinton campaign has embarked on an ambitious effort to present the candidate the way they want her to be seen: as a pragmatic Midwesterner with a compelling life story

and

The challenge is more than just getting voters to connect to Clinton: She has extremely high negative ratings to try to counteract.

It’s what happens when you have a candidate that supplants polls for principles.

Putin Out Of Balance, Disturbed

Russian President Vladimir Putin still insists that Russia is at odds if not still at ‘war’ with the United States and wants nothing of this missile shield. After bragging that their successful tests of a multi-warhead nuclear missile would defeat the missile shield that the United States has in mind for Poland and the Czech Republic, you can expect that Putin will be banging his shoe on the desk about this at the G8 Summit next week in Germany. This, after the Bush administration, and Bush himself, encouraged Putin to join in on the shield and participate. After all, we are allies remember? The cold war is over, isn’t it? Apparently not, since Putin’s response now is that he will aim his missiles at Europe.

Putin is out there saying

The missile shield only creates the theoretical illusion that one is protected, but the possibility that a nuclear conflict is unleashed is actually greater . . .

and

“The strategic balance in the West is disturbed,” said Putin, adding Russia had to create a system to counter U.S. weapons.

Putin is to world peace what the Democrats in Washington are to the war on terror, which includes Iraq. I think it’s Putin who is disturbed and out of balance.

Early Check-Out At Club Gitmo

Apparently not happy with his 5 prayer sessions a day, a prayer rug,  and three square religious dietary meals a day, and ocean view, a detainee who hails from Saudi Arabia committed suicide.  First early check-out from Club Gitmo.

Saudi Arabian detainee died Wednesday at Guantanamo Bay prison (appropriately named Club Gitmo by Rush Limbaugh) and the U.S. military said he apparently committed suicide. Critics of the detention center said the death showed the level of desperation among prisoners.

The bleeding heart critics have forgotten the level of evil among that bunch of human debris.  Watch for the  hysteria in the media, and the democrats, to close down Club Gitmo.  I think it’s doing just fine, both it and its guests need to stay there, until they’re either adjudicated by the military tribunal to be innocent or until such time that the war is over.  They can expect to be there for a couple of decades, if not generations.  And that’s just the way it should be.

Who’s Going To Ask Hillary?

What is the former President’s relationship with InfoUSA?

Because Senate financial disclosure rules do not require Hillary Clinton to reveal exactly how much — or for what — the company has paid her husband over the past five years, we don’t know all the details. But we do know this: former presidents – especially Bill Clinton – don’t come cheap. And, just months after he left the presidency, Bill Clinton was paid $200,000 for a speech given to InfoUSA in Omaha. Since then, he has been paid an undisclosed amount each year, listed only as “more than $1000” for ‘non-employee compensation” on Senator Clinton’s Senate financial disclosure form.

According to the The New York Times, InfoUSA compiled and sold lists that disclosed the names of elderly men and women who would be likely to respond to unscrupulous scams.

The ‘testicle lock-box’ is stronger than anyone can imagine. It has worked for her so far. Whether there’s something to indicate that Slick Willie knew of these practices seems to be a most relevant question. And if there is, I’m just dying to hear him explain. And did she know too? At any rate, the worst thing Mrs. Bill Clinton can do is to ignore it or dismiss it as a ‘right-wing conspiracy’ like the way John Kerry ‘handled’ the Swift Boat Vets. His running from the SBV’s cost him. If Hillary takes a similar stance, she’s toast.

42 Captives Freed From al-Qaida Prison

The machinations that those on the left like Sen. Joseph Biden go through to constantly berate our soldiers, their commanders, and their mission so as not to make our enemy mad at us (what?) is instructive in revealing that their strategy of ‘if we’re nice to them then they’ll be nice to us’ is a guaranteed losing one. War is about killing the enemy before the enemy kills you. Period.

The recent rescue of torture victims and discovery of al-Qaida torture manuals shows just how ignorant and wrong those on the left are when it comes to the war on terror and the determination of our enemy. It’s not about issuing prayer rugs, Korans, special food, and scheduled “prayer sessions.”

One of our own was recovered, from the river.

The Melting Pot Is Melting

Other than the war on terror, the next dangerous situation to America is illegal immigration and its effects on The Melting Pot. The “solution” to this was the result of no input from ‘the American people’ on the the major aspects of the immigration bill in Congress. It is the beginning of the pot melting. The best presentation of what this bill actually does, as opposed to what proponents say about it, is this Heritage In Focus video by former AG Edwin Meese.

American Muslims Support Suicide Bombings

Such is the result of a survey of so-called moderate Muslims in America. Why, how can this be? The media constantly tells us, prompted by CAIR, how American Muslims are different than the terrorists, that they support America fighting the Islamofascists because they are perverting Islam. That’s not all they support. 31% of America’s Muslims also support suicide bombings in the name of Islam.

* More than one in four Muslims (or 26%), aged 18-29, said “Suicide Bombing is Justified.” 2% percent of them say it can often be justified, 13% say sometimes, and 11% say rarely. Add to that, the 5% don’t know/refused to answer this easy, instinctive question, and it’s even worse–for a total of 31%–almost a third of young American Muslims, who support homicide bombings. This younger group of Muslims is the most radical, the study found, and it’s the largest group of Muslims in America. It is also the future of “America’s” Islam.

Which certainly confirms what many have suspected since we decided to fight back. Which is; were we just misunderstanding their reaction, which was the sound of silence? As this survey confirms, there was no misunderstanding.

CAIR’s communications director Ibrahim Hooper says the survey “clearly shows that the American Muslim community is well integrated in our society.” And that “the overwhelming majority of American Muslims reject terrorism and religious extremism.”

Ibrahim must be thinking about the Middle East, not the United States. Americans don’t believe that a 31% terrorist oriented religious block would be something to call “well integrated.” How right he is. We have something to be concerned about when a lot of 18-29 yr olds wouldn’t mind (and wouldn’t stop?) a little suicide bomber here and there. They’re the ones who seem to be well integrated.

The young show a greater tendency to identify themselves as Muslim first and American second. This faith-first pattern is even more pronounced among Muslims in Europe, according to previous Pew surveys.

Spain, France, Germany, Great Britain. Look how well it works there. CAIR’s headline in all this is “American Muslims Reject Extremes.” It’s not the majority of Muslim Americans (69%) I’m concerned about. It’s the other 31%.

Gasoline, You Pay What You Get For

Now that a gallon of gas cost over $3, the news media is re-running the same news casts on this subject that they did last year. Well, not really but the tilt is the same, their message is the same, for all practical purposes they could re-play last years’ broadcasts on this subject. They continue to belabor the question for the great unwashed; why are gas prices so high?

That question is commonplace among the economically challenged who think supply and demand are obscure theories that contradict reality. They only look to gouging in one way or another. The question that should be posed, and hasn’t been is this; what have we done since last year to increase oil supply? How many new wells were licensed? Where has exploration begun? How many oil refineries have we built? What have we done to supply or demand to cause the price to come down? I like this one best, would we be more secure and would the price of gas be as high as it is today if, ten years ago, we had started drilling and expanding the oil and gas infrastructure ?

The population doing what populations do will increase demand on its own. Births outnumber deaths. We are now over 300 million strong, not counting the 12-20 million illegals. And right now Congress is attempting to slip an immigration bill over on us that will so radically change the demographics and politic of this country that guarantees over 100 million (the families of the 12 million) more Mexicans will be here driving cars.

The evidence of government actions points to a willingness to increase our population (demand) by the stroke of a pen, and absolutely no evidence to increase the oil supply to meet our current demands, let alone the effect (if enacted) this immigration bill will have on demand. How high will it have to go before the left understands economics? Is $6/gallon enough? You pay what you get for.

Nuclear Iran Not Complying With U.N. Demands

Well there’s a news flash. Not really. And that useless ElBaradei of the UN nuclear club (IAEA) is already in give-up mode.

IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei is now arguing that diplomatic efforts to get Iran to suspend enrichment may no longer make sense if the Islamic republic has the technical ability to enrich on a large scale, a diplomat familiar with the inspection process told The Associated Press.

What’s the end-game here? Looking for a willing host country to take the United Nations is a start. Ahmadinejad might get that attack he’s been asking and preparing for.
