Taliban Hurting, Let's Party

24 dead terrorists for one fake flag ain't a bad deal.
24 dead terrorists for one fake flag.

Here is a headline that will get your attention, from al-AP, Taliban said to be furious over US missile strike.

From the

, dateline DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan

The Taliban are furious about the latest apparent U.S. missile strike in Pakistan, indicating a senior militant may be among two dozen people killed, officials and residents said Sunday.

My only wish is that we could see the dead leader hanging from a bridge. Even if it is only pieces of him scraped off of the ground and inside a garbage bag. These Islamofascists have a lot of nerve to be furious when they get blown up. That’s what war is all about. Isn’t that right Associated Press?

CAIR Challenges 'Obsession' To The FEC

Following up on a recent post entitled ‘Delivering Propaganda,’ a group called CAIR (more on them later) is asking the Federal Election Commission to investigate whether The Clarion Fund, a nonprofit group that distributed the documentary ‘Obsession, Radical Islam’s War Against The West,’ is a “front” for an Israel-based group with a stealth goal of helping Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Don’t you just love conspiracy theories? Please check your tinfoil turban at the door, and, watch out for those black helicopters. They’re coming for you.

It is quite telling that this Muslim group thinks that making people aware of ‘radical Islam’ is a political statement that helps a particular political party. To which all I can say is, oh well, if the shoe fits, wear it.

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said . . .

If you heighten the hysteria over national security or terrorism or do anything to make people more fearful, it’s clear they would trend toward McCain because that’s been his mantra throughout the campaign.

Delivering Propaganda?

When I saw the heading of William E. Jackson, Jr.’s column in Editor & Publisher, ‘Delivering Propaganda, As If It is Toothpaste,’ it got my attention. But to learn that it was the documentary ‘Obsession‘ that he was talking about, my next thought was, maybe he should have targeted the NYT and the MSM with a title like that, ‘Delivering Propaganda,’ instead of this documentary.

That documentary has a history to it that Mr. Jackson apparently is not aware of, or chose to ignore. Because of pressure from the CAIR crowd, it was pulled from a multi-faceted series on PBS about radical Islam and the War On Terror. It correctly shows radical Islam for what it is, what it does, and what it believes.

No movie distributor would carry it, probably out of fear. And no major TV network would air it. It was that powerful of a presentation. So now that it is literally given away, Jackson calls it propaganda. Newspapers isn’t the only distribution method for Obsession. They are also using direct mail.

His article illustrates why some think that the mainstream media serves as the marketing wing of the DNC, and in some cases, al-Qaeda.

Obama's Sleight-Of-Hand Move With Your Money

Since about the time the Democrat(ic) party decided to change their mind on the war in Iraq, which took all of about 4 months after it started, what has been their complaint? After the ‘he lied to get us into war’ and ‘there were no WMD’s,’ Democrat’s main concern was its cost. We can’t afford it. It will break our economy.

True, the cost of the war is great. Unfortunately, the cost of losing it is greater. Early on in their chorus of the immense cost of the war, I suspected that they were basically looking at the ‘cost’ of the war as opportunities lost for all sorts of entitlement and other socialistic programs that build (read ‘buy’) voter constituencies.

Today, Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) just proved my suspicion was well founded. Apparently, Obama and his party have gotten used to spending $10 billion a month on the war, and they have seen that the country is still here, and still growing, despite all the obstacles and challenges that have happened to us since the war began. They are no longer saying that we can’t afford it. Instead, in responding to President Bush’s announcement to draw down troops in Iraq, and to put more troops in Afghanistan, Obama is saying that he has better uses for that $10 billion a month.

It’s time to change our foreign policy. I will succeed in Iraq by responsibly removing our combat brigades and pressing Iraqis to stand up for their future. I will rebuild our military. I will finally have a comprehensive strategy to finish the job in Afghanistan – with more troops, more training for Afghan security forces, more development resources, more anti-corruption safeguards, and more of a focus on eliminating the Taliban and al Qaeda sanctuary along the Pakistan border. And I will stop spending $10 billion a month in Iraq so that we can invest in our economy here at home.

What is the answer to the enormous cost of the war? When it ends, the cost also ends. Who knows, we might need it again some day.

Anbar Province Under Full Iraqi Control

Didn’t make front page of the New York Times yesterday. Not today either. Gov. Palin’s daughter took that spot in the New York Times. Instead, the Times buries it in the Middle East section today.

On Monday, following a parade on a freshly paved street, American commanders formally returned responsibility for keeping order in Anbar Province, once the heartland of the Sunni insurgency, to the Iraqi Army and police force. The ceremony capped one of the starkest turnabouts in the country since the war began five and a half years ago.

goLeftTV Says The U.S. Is Like Old Communist Russia

I’d say that this video would qualify Mike Papantonio’s1 way-out-there ‘progressive news’ outlet called goLeftTV for the Most Ridiculous Item Of The Day award. But it would diminish the value of the award because they would probably win it every day.

There are a few topics in this video, but the most outrageous is the take that Farron Cousins has concerning the Bush administration (probably the National Security Agency) and Google.

According to Cousins, at the request of the administration, Google has agreed to block images of military installations, war zones, The White House, and other potential sensitive areas. To that, the progressive news source accuses the Bush administration of being like the old communist Russia. Which, by the way, is the place where Vladimir Putin is trying to return.

If you need one, here’s a quick credibility test for goLeftTV. Look up The White House on Google Earth. Is it blocked out on your screen?

pMSNBC Libs Ignite On Scarborough

Michael Calderone at Politico details the story that spans two days. Beginning with Keith Olbermann piping in for Joe to get a shovel. Apparently implying that McCain has not gained in the polls, like he actually has, to a point of being competitive with Obama, like Joe was pointing out. With that comment, Olbermann was implying that Joe was putting out bullshit. It is Olbermann’s political blinders than prevent him from seeing McCain’s rise in the polls to within the margin of error of tying the Messiah. Then again, I don’t remember when he ever read the news from an objective perspective. That was Monday night.

Then on Tuesday morning, reporter David Shuster, tries to equate the criticism of the left’s call to leave Iraq immediately with al-Malaki’s call for all troops to leave Iraq in 16 months. For some reason, we all know what the reason is, Shuster is unwilling to see the difference between an immediate and precipitous withdrawal from one over the span of 16 months. And, according to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, even that is not cut in stone. But hey, Shuster has an agenda to uphold. David Shuster stepped in it when he tried to draw the relativism between the two, which wasn’t at all what Joe was talking about. Then Shuster attaches his bias to Joe with his ‘your party’ comment. What a blithering idiot.

Got to hand it to Joe though. He doesn’t take the abuse, and holds his own. I hope they pay him well over there.

Barack Obama, Not Ready For Prime Time

The Russian invasion of the sovereign State of Georgia exposed just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the capacity and capability of the rookie, Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), to protect and defend the interests of the United States.

So when Obama’s first reaction to Russia’s military invasion of Georgia was wishy washy, and over the course of three days evolved into something more like John McCain’s (and my) reaction on day one, you have to grade Obama’s ‘3a.m. phone call’ with an F.

Does Obama’s grasp, or lack thereof, of Russian and European conditions make you feel secure? Electing Obama is really electing his hundreds of advisers that tell him what to do and how to react, because he has no clue.

Monica Crowley writes about Obama’s foreign relations experience. How’s this for the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on European Affairs? Have you seen this reported anywhere?

Obama’s utter lack of experience and even interest in Russia and its “near abroad” has surfaced in two ways.

First, he took a trip to Russia in 2005 in order to talk to Vladimir Putin about decommissioning Russian nuclear weapons. The Kremlin is still laughing at that one. Of course, that doesn’t stop Obama from wanting to decommission AMERICA’S nuclear arsenal. To set an example, of course. More laughter from Moscow.

Second, for the past year and a half, Obama has been the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on European Affairs. And guess what? He’s never held a policy hearing. No meetings, no witnesses, no testimony, no nothing. This is why Obama himself is a “know-nothing” on what is turning out to be a central issue for the United States, our allies, and for the campaign. But Senator Clueless never bothered to take an interest in Europe or Russia. He just wants your kids to speak Spanish and for you to refrain from visiting Europe to keep our “ugly American” quotient down.

Then there is this short list in experience compared to McCain, for the one campaigning to become Commander In Chief. Military: McCain 26 years, Obama 0. Congress: McCain 22 years, Obama 143 days.

American Airlines Wins MRIOTD Award

American Airlines is charging extra baggage fees to troops going to Iraq to fight in the war. This forces soldiers heading for a war zone in Iraq to

try to get reimbursement from the military. Presumably in their spare time. I’m sorry. I believe in the capitalist system and business making a profit and all that, but on September 11, 2001, American Airlines flight 11 was hijacked by terrorists and crashed into the North Tower 1 World Trade Center. Fifty-one minutes later, American Airlines flight 77 was crashed into the Pentagon by the same group of terrorists.

America suffered the first 3000 casualties in the War On Terror that day, and the war was on. The VFW is trying to get American Airlines to waive the extra baggage fee for our brave men and women going to war.

What is American Airlines’ position?

‘Because the soldiers don’t pay a dime, our waiver of the fees amounts to a discount to the military, not a discount to soldiers,’ said Tim Wagner, spokesman for American Airlines. ‘Soldiers should not have to pay a penny of it.’

And their point is? There comes a time when being an American means more than a logo on the side of an airplane. The fact that American Airlines is showing itself to be ‘American’ in name only, by not waiving this fee, qualifies American Airlines for the Most Ridiculous Item Of The Day award.

Businesses should make a profit, that’s what business does. But businesses should also be good citizens in their community. Waiving this fee is not too much to expect, especially since these special passengers are risking it all to insure that American Airlines doesn’t lose more planes full of passengers.
