Keystone XL Show In Louisiana

In the news, and not in the news, comes the media’s version of Senator Mary Landrieu’s (D-LA) push in Washington to advance the Keystone XL pipeline project. A project that has met all the required tests and gone through all the hoops put before it by the Obama administration. Except for getting the president to sign off on it.

Legislation to approve the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline began racing through the U.S. Congress on Wednesday as Democrats and Republicans appeared to be coming together in a challenge of President Barack Obama’s oversight of the project.

What is NOT in the news about this move is why now? “Why now” is, Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) is facing a runoff election for her seat on Dec. 6, and is in danger of losing it to Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA). In response to Landrieu’s action, Cassidy proposed an almost identical bill in the House. The media’s sleight-of-hand is their interpretation, that the two houses of congress are now “working together,” in the aftermath of the mid-terms where Democrats took another pounding.

The timing has nothing to do with congress working together on this subject. There is, and has always been, bi-partisan support for the XL-pipeline. The people want energy independence. Big Labor wants the jobs that it would create. But all that support is not enough for the president to face down the environmentalist lobby that is against it. Landrieu’s move now is just to try and save her job. Her motivation is just too transparent for the media to notice. They wouldn’t be providing the needed cover for Landrieu if they did.

“The Lie” Got Obama A 4-Point Win

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said Tuesday that he regrets saying that aspects of Obamacare needed to be concealed from the public due to the “stupidity of the American voter.”

BUT, makes NO APOLOGY for purposefully deceiving Americans in order to pass legislation that usurped 16% of the economy, representing the largest government control over everyone’s lives since the 16th Amendment (income tax), Social Security, and Medicare.

But it’s worst than that. It was this lie that helped (got) Obama get elected in 2008. No apology for that either.

America, Arizona Lose Another One

If the political pundits want to pin the recent wave of dissatisfaction with the Democrat party to an issue, failing to keep illegals out is one of them. The problem has gotten so bad that now, a federal judge has changed the meaning of the word immigration to include trespassing. If you illegally cross the border, you are trespassing. You are not immigrating. There are laws that regulate immigration, and illegally crossing the border isn’t one of them. Well, until now apparently.

A ruling Friday that struck down the state’s 2005 immigrant smuggling law marks the latest in a string of restrictions placed by the courts on Arizona’s effort to get local police to take action on illegal immigration. The smuggling law, like similar state statutes, was tossed because a judge concluded it conflicted with the federal government’s immigration powers.

Jonathan Paton, a former Republican lawmaker from Tucson who was one of the smuggling law’s top sponsors, said “It basically shows this administration has no intention to enforce its own laws or let the state enforce its laws.”

The media (and others) have already begun to frame President Obama’s pick, Loretta Lynch, to replace Eric Holder as an outsider to Washington.

It’s unusual for Obama to pick someone he doesn’t know well for such a sensitive administration post. But at a time when Obama is under political fire, Lynch’s distance from the president could be an asset in the confirmation process.

She has a proven record of going after the bad guys. That’s good. The first test of the Republican majority will be evident in her confirmation process. To draw from Ms. Lynch whether she sees a difference between trespassing and immigration. It is obvious that the administration doesn’t see a difference. Lawmakers need to vet whether she sees Arizona as the bad guys for protecting its border and citizens, or as victims of an administration’s failure to enforce the law. Any sympathy for the ‘bad guys’ concept should, but won’t, be a disqualifier. The 2016 elections will have to fix that. And I’m not just talking about Democrats.

Weather Channel Morning Show Bests CNN, MSNBC

For the week of 10/6/2014, Al Roker’s morning show on the Weather Channel, had higher ratings than CNN and MSNBC.

‘Morning Joe’ has been shedding viewers for about a year. ‘New Day’ is shaping up to be one of television’s all-time titanic disasters. In other words, it’s not that Al Roker’s numbers are so high, it’s that CNN’s and MSNBC’s numbers are so low.

Overall, this is another sign of the slow-motion fall of left-wing cable news network. For its part, MSNBC is nothing more than left-wing talk radio with pictures.

Right-on analogy . Two left-wing talkers you can see on MSNBC are Ed Shultz and Mike Papantonio. There’s plenty of company at the bottom of the barrel.

Speaking of the bottom of the barrel. Here’s a left-wing talker you’ve probably never heard of, unless you venture into Mike Papantonio’s  Ring of Fire website. They’re really two peas in a pod. His name is Mike Malloy. Here’s a sample of his work.

2014 Mid-Term Analysis

The people who voted yesterday sent a clear message to Washington. STOP! Turn this ship around. Republicans did not win because they ran on a platform of issues, because they didn’t. Republicans won last night, big time, because Americans (from all parties) don’t like (66% of all Americans) the consequences of liberalism and the transformation Barack Obama is committed to. Still, the day after, committed to. They don’t like the flagrant violation of the Constitution. The Republican victory last night was to stop Obama. It was a rejection of Democrat incumbents. It was, to stop Democrats.

Pardon me while I gloat.

Other notable victories last night . . .

  • Mike Hill, a true conservative Republican who happens to be Black, is the first Black elected to the Florida House of Representatives since reconstruction, was President and founder of the local Tea Party in Pensacola, and won by a 2 to 1 margin.
  • The first Black senator from the South was elected last night. A Tea Party-supported conservative republican. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)
  • Utah elected the first Black woman to the House of Representative, Rep. Mia Love (R-UT)
  • Gov. Scott Walker, Wisconsin, wins third election in four years. Successfully fought Big Labor, turned a deficit into a surplus, and lowered taxes.
  • Illinois elected the first republican governor in over 30 years. Cook County, (Chicago) went Republican by a 2 to 1 margin.
  • Anthony Brown, Obama’s Mini-Me and Democrat Governor in Maryland got beat by 10 points by Republican Larry Hogan.
  • Republicans also unseated Democrat governors in Massachusetts, and Arkansas.
  • All of the federal representatives from Arkansas are now Republican. Home of the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor.
  • Texas AG Greg Abbott (R) beat Wendy Davis (D) of abortion and war on women fame, by 21 points.
  • Perdue (R) beat Nunn (D) (Sam Nunns daughter) by 8 points overall in the Georgia Senate race, and by 31 points in Fulton County (Atlanta).
  • Deal (R) beat Carter (Jimmy Carter’s grandson) by 8 points overall for Georgia Governor, and by 29 points in Fulton County.

The mandate is clear, should the Republicans decide to accept it. Turn this ship around. Do what the people elected you to do. The stakes could not be any higher. The question is not what part of Obama’s agenda you will accept. The election wasn’t about walking across the aisle to Obama’s side. It was 180 degrees from that. The question is what part of your agenda the loser will accept. And keep in mind, there’s nothing wrong with gridlock if that’s what it takes to keep the country from going over the cliff. Use your power of the purse to do what you can. It’s a tool, and responsibility, that the Constitution gave you. Use it.

Raise My Taxes, Please!

One of life’s truisms is, we’re all going to die. Another one is, there is no such thing as a temporary tax. Escambia County residents today voted for a 1.5% tax increase. Only they don’t call it that. They call it a half-cent and a one-cent tax. With that kind of deception, I’ll make a deal. I’ll go to the tax collector’s office and give them a nickel. Then don’t ask for another cent. People of Escambia County, learn how to live with what you have.

Democrat Campaign Strategy; Racial Fear

Whether by design or by accident, this years mid-term campaigning brought out the racist-ness and divisiveness in Democrat party operatives and its leaders. That the “race card” and class/gender warfare is employed is nothing new for Democrats. So what’s different this time? This time, Republicans are not campaigning on any kind of platform. Instead, Republicans are campaigning on the misery caused by the confluence of bad policies and incompetence of the Obama administration. It’s a given, considering two-thirds of the country feel Obama is taking the country in the wrong direction.

But whether that was by design, or the result of being shell-shocked by Democrats demagoging every policy initiative they advance is immaterial. My money is on the latter. The establishment republicans are afraid of their own shadow and, afraid of advancing true conservative values. (And I don’t mean social values.) What they’re really afraid of is being demagoged by Democrats because, history shows, they don’t know how to respond to being lied about. The result has been to draw out the worst in Democrat politics.

  • The second worst president in American history, Jimmy Carter, said that any criticism of President Barack Obama is because of his race. My response to him is HERE.
  • A mailer in Alabama scaring Blacks into voting Democratic because if they don’t, they’ll be putting the KKK in charge.
  • In support of Mary Landreau, Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) projects racism upon Republicans by saying “I don’t care what [Obama] does, he is not going to be acceptable because of his skin color.”
  • An ad by the Senate Majority Fund, a group tied to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is running ads on black-oriented radio, attempting to link Thom Tillis to the death of Trayvon Martin.
  • Georgia Democrats are also trumping up racial fear in the minds of Black voters saying to vote for Jimmy Carter’s grandson for governor, Jason Carter, if you want to prevent another Ferguson.

Now, there is evidence that their racial accusations are beginning to backfire in Chicago and Georgia, with Black preachers endorsing Republicans and denouncing the promotion of racial fear to, ostensibly, get Blacks scared enough to get out and vote for Democrats.

Devoid of anything positive to run on, all that is left is spreading racial fear. It’s not only what desperation looks like. It exposes the moral standard of the Democrat Party.

Communist Environmentalist News

According to the United Nations (aka Useless Nations), the end is near, it’s our fault, and we’re all going to die. Well, only one thing there is certain.

From the AP:

Climate change is happening, it’s almost entirely man’s fault and limiting its impacts may require reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero this century, the U.N.’s panel on climate science said Sunday.

Here’s the plan.

  1. Everyone who has anything to do with the United Nations and the IPCC must not exhale for the next 24 hours.
  2. Continue to monitor the weather and take up the matter again in 2214.

Why Democrats And Voter ID Is Like A Cross To A Vampire

Why do you think Democrats don’t see a problem with voting registration and voting laws? Why do they rile at the thought of a requiring a picture ID to vote? Why wouldn’t they want to join Republicans to take steps to keep your vote sacred, and not negated by someone ineligible to vote? Here are two reasons.

The pro-amnesty Hispanic activist organization the National Council of La Raza helpfully promoted a Washington Post article explaining which states people can vote in without having to use a photo ID.

Then there are Democrats telling “illegals” that they can vote. And not just campaign workers, candidates themselves. No problem.

Especially when elections are close, as the country is closely matched on both sides by political party affiliation, it doesn’t take much fraud to alter the outcome. That’s why, from the White House and Justice Department on down, there is no emphasis on stopping voter fraud. The moral standards for Democrats are different.

And if you have to cheat to win, that’s OK. That’s why.

CNN Off Of Dish Network

Candy Crowley, Anderson Cooper, and other CNN faces are not available now to 14 million Dish Network customers thanks to a carriage dispute.

“Thank You” carriage dispute!  What this means to CNN is that their cable ratings are (like MSNBC) down to friends and relatives. What this means to me is I’ll have to find another network “cold shower” to look at now that Candy Crowley isn’t available.
