BLS ‘Secret News’

That the Bureau of Labor Statistics cooks the books in the way that they report unemployment is no surprise to those paying attention. So I’m not touting this news from last Friday’s report. What is newsworthy though, is that the media is not saying a word about it like they (and former Labor Secretary Robert Reich) did religiously, every Friday, while Barack Obama was in The White House.

Instead, they’re talking about Trump’s low poll numbers. (Everyone knows how they make and use poll numbers, and how Hillary was going to win, until she lost.) They’re hyping that, they’re hyping other irrelevant stuff like the ‘first 100 days’ and the Georgia special election for Tom Price’s Dist. 6 seat.

Not a peep about Friday’s report, that says . . .

The national unemployment rate declined by 0.2 percentage point from February to 4.5 percent and was 0.5 point lower than in March 2016.

The U-6, the best government numbers on real unemployment, is down .6% in March 2017 from February 2017. And down a full percentage point in March 2017 to 8.9% compared to 9.9% in March 2016.

So while the media is excited to report about Trump’s so-called unfulfilled campaign promises, isn’t it weird how they miss this one?

Media Driving No-Bench Dem Party

Garance Franke-Ruta, the Senior Politics Editor at “Yahoo News,” has a story about Georgia’s 6th Congressional District special election Tuesday to fill Rep. Tom Price’s seat. Her report has a banner in it called “RESISTANCE REPORT.” Making no claim at objective news reporting. It is the media, Yahoo included, that is the driving force for the Democrat Party. The days of the media carrying the water for the party have past. That was the case when the party was strong, and had a message that resonated with Americans. Absent that, the media has taken the ball. Now, the party follows them. 
Her takeaway #2 is worth commenting on. Garance Franke-Ruta says . . .
Karen Handel is more vulnerable than she might seem, even with Trump now in her corner. Her inability to consolidate the GOP vote — she won 19.1 percent of the total field, against 10 other Republicans — despite being well known in the Sixth District suggests enthusiasm for her candidacy is not terrific.
Another way to look at the field of eleven candidates, like we saw in the last presidential primary, is that the GOP has a  big bench. There are a lot of people who want to be involved, who care about the country. And for that, she blames the candidate, Karen Handel, for her “inability to consolidate the GOP .” With that analysis, I suppose you could say that Jon Ossoff consolidated the Democrat Party so much that there was no candidate in Price’s district to run.

Trump Was Right

Bound to drive Democrats and their news media (even more) crazy today is the news that the Obama administration did, in fact, scoop up surveillance information from Trump associates and campaign staff, not related to Russia, and, disseminated that information without blocking out the identities of the Americans, some of whom were Trump associates, both before the election and after the election.

Seems to me that the Left has been asking the wrong person for proof that Trump and his associates were spied on. The newspapers are the ones who’ve been publishing it. Why not ask them for proof?

Now that point is moot, because it did happen. House Intelligence Chairman, Devin Nunes, told reporters that the U.S. intelligence community incidentally collected information on members of President Trump’s transition team, possibly including Trump himself, and the information was “widely disseminated” in intelligence reports.

Chairman Nunes said he had viewed dozens of documents showing that the information had been incidentally collected. He said that he believes the information was legally collected.  Nunes said that the intelligence has nothing to do with Russia and that the collection occurred after the presidential election.

We know quite a lot now. We know from FBI Director Comey that there is an ongoing investigation into possible ties to Russia and the Trump campaign, and, that there was no collaboration found. Collaboration into interfering in the campaign or the election.

We know that Flynn’s name was not shielded from the contents of ‘the wiretaps’ that the NYT and others reported. Not shielding Americans from FISA surveillance is against the FISA rules, and the unauthorized the release of same is a felony.

We know the Obama administration expanded access to unmasked intelligence reports two weeks prior to the end of his administration. We also know, from the Comey hearing, that not only did James Clapper (DNI) and John Brennan (CIA), have access to this, but a lot of people in The White House also had access to it. Including Susan Rice (NSA), Ben Rhodes Deputy NSA, AG Loretta Lynch, and her deputy Sally Yates.

Still wondering why the media has no interest in finding out who “outed” Flynn and others associated with the Trump campaign and the Trump administration? What are they concerned with? They’re concerned with why Nunes revealed some truth which effectively took the wind right out of their sails. Still not concerned with who authorized the surveillance and who the leaker(s) is.

Even worse, for a media so hyped up against police state tactics and spying, their total lack of interest in what the Obama administration was doing to political opponents is beyond hypocritical. Had the guy in The White House at the time been a Republican, every story would have the words Nazi and Hitler in it.

Bottom line, Trump was right. And the news media is looking even more fake by sticking to their literal interpretation of Trump’s tweet.

CBS Carries The Water

This doesn’t qualify as Fake News. It’s more like the news playing cheerleaders for Democrats. And it couldn’t be more obvious from what CBS radio news is peddling today.

In advance of President Trump’s speech tonight before a joint session of Congress, CBS radio news is positing the question, how much the president will accommodate Democrats in their agenda? Not even giving a thought towards the opposite, like, how much of Trump’s agenda will Democrats endorse? Remember, to get things done, end the gridlock, and do the will of the people?

The premise with the media v Republicans remains the same. In that, the media continues to dig their own hole.

As for Democrats? Republicans are the ones to compromise their positions, regardless of whether they win or lose an election. From the beginning, when Trump enters the Chamber, to the end, the Democrats present will show you, emphasis on show, how much respect and how far they will go to change their views or (losing) agenda.

CNN, RFN On Display

Want to see what Real Fake News looks like? Here it is and here’s why? With all the CNN reporting of “communications between President Trump’s associates and Russians,” the FBI told White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus that that did not occur. Shouldn’t THAT be the headline?

After being told that by FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, which also supports the Trump administration’s position, in an effort to shut down that whole fake news meme, Priebus asked to make that known publicly. For whatever reason, they declined to get involved. McCabe did say that he (Priebus) could say that the FBI told them that the news story was bogus, but that they weren’t going to do it themselves. So now, the fake news continues as if some wrongdoing had occurred on the part of the administration.

The FBI indicated to the White House it did not believe the reporting to be accurate.

The Fake News story pushed by CNN here is about whether Priebus was wrong to ask McCabe to clear the air on the controversy. Instead of the real news, that it was fake news from the start.

Fake News has its consequences: White House blocks news organizations from press briefing, and the fake news media has their shorts in a wad. My advice to the media? Swallow hard. Medicine doesn’t always taste good.

Voter ID, Soft Bigotry

If you don’t pay attention to what the media, liberal-stacked federal courts, and the Democrat politicians in Washington have to say about shoring up voting integrity, you will be surprised to learn that they say Latinos and Blacks, above all other people, are incapable of getting a photo ID. And because of that, having to require a positive identification is called voter suppression, even racist.

That was the reason Wisconsin and Texas were met with push-back when the people in those states voted for voter ID.

Last year, federal courts curbed or nullified Republican-backed laws making it harder to vote, saying they reduced turnout by Democratic-leaning minorities, deliberately or otherwise.

Texas’s strict voter-ID law was among them. A federal appeals court ruled last year that the law hurt Latinos and African-Americans, who were less likely to have the IDs. It later ordered state officials to change their public education campaign on new ID rules.

This bogus meme dates back to the 1990’s when “motor voter” laws were enacted by then democrat controlled Washington. Motor voter means if you can get a driver’s license, you can register to vote at the same time. Not surprisingly, many states like Washington, do not require proof of citizenship to get a driver’s license.

Also not surprisingly, the two groups targeted as being discriminated against, are ones that traditionally register Democrat. For Democrats, it doesn’t matter if they run across the southern border or are shipped in as “refugees” from anywhere in the world.

The 2016 Democratic Party platform declares, “we will continue to fight against discriminatory voter identification laws, which disproportionately burden young voters, diverse communities, people of color, low income families, people with disabilities, the elderly, and women.” Yet, at their own convention, it seems like a different set of rules apply.

To those groups that the media and the Left say are disenfranchised because they just can’t get a valid picture ID, here is your challenge. If you want to vote, picture/voter ID’s are free for the asking. And, you have two years to get one.

If ending voter disenfranchisement is ever to be tackled, it isn’t going to come from not requiring a valid voter ID that verifies citizenship. It will come from requiring one.

Media Watchdog Dead

Remember when the media was all aflutter about Republican  obstructionists, creating gridlock in Washington, when Barack Obama was president? Have you heard the media raise the specter of that now? It’s a rhetorical question.

What we hear from the media now is things like Democrats trying to stop Donald Trump on (fill in the blank). Democrats push back at Trump’s (fill in the blank.)

They can’t hide their bias any longer. They’re a joke, just like the anarchists in the streets.

Organized Labor Declines

The Dept of Labor released their report on Union Membership last week. Not surprisingly, the AP had a cow and came way far from reporting what the report means and what the report shows.

The only national number the AP used was comparing Wisconsin’s union membership, 8 percent, to be below the national average of 10.7 percent. There’s not a word about the serious overall national decline in union membership. Let alone the performance during the last eight years of the Obama administration. Those are facts the AP, whose journalists are mostly if not entirely members of the News Media Guild, doesn’t like. So it didn’t report them.

The AP then blamed right to work legislation as the reason for that shortfall without offering any “proof” that right to work legislation caused any part of Wisconsin’s union membership decline in 2016. Overall, Wisconsin’s union membership dropped by only 4,000 in 2016 to 219,000.

The situation for organized labor goes way beyond Wisconsin. Florida dropped 90,000 members since 2015, representing 5.6 percent of workers compared to 6.8 percent the previous year.

And this is what the labor union membership looks like after eight years of the Obama administration.

What else happened last week? The XL Pipeline and Dakota Access Pipeline projects got the go-ahead from President Trump. All union  jobs. And, Labor Union leaders met with President Trump in The White House to talk jobs. Reminds me of a question often raised in the 2016 presidential campaign. What have you got to lose?

The Swamp Is In Auto-drain Mode

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan has reportedly left the agency a day after President Trump signed an executive order to build a wall on the Mexican border. That he didn’t resign years ago when President Obama tied his hands behind his back in enforcing immigration law says a lot.

Four senior level management people at the State Department resigned yesterday. Described as the entire senior level of management at the State Department. Part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior foreign service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.

Dishonest Media Should Pay The Price

That there exists a dishonest media, one with its own leftist tilt, isn’t even debatable. This has been highlighted in the news cycles and Daily Press Conferences since Inauguration Day last Friday.

We’ve seen MSNBC’s personality Chris Matthews refer to Trump’s inauguration speech as “Hitlerian.” We’ve seen CNN make fake news reports and get called out on it by no less than President Trump himself.

Yet there has been no media cacophony suggesting that Jim Acosta, CNN and Chris Matthews and MSNBC be banned from future access and interviews, like Barack Obama did after Barbara West of Orlando’s WFTV asked VP Candidate Joe Biden what Americans would think about Marxist / Socialist tendencies of then candidate Barack Obama. Some were calling for her to be fired, for asking questions that the mainstream media would dare not ask. And never did. One could argue that, had candidate Obama been vetted by the press, Hillary Clinton would have beaten Obama in the 2008 primary.
