Survivor ‘08, Clinton / Edwards Alliance

Forget Big Brother 8, how about Survivor ’08? In case you haven’t heard it, candidate wannabes Mrs. Bill Clinton and John Edwards had a brief conversation while at the democratic party debates hosted by the NAACP. Clinton’s strategy is to cut out as many lower tier candidates from future debates.

Not about to get thrown off the island, Hillary has started making alliances, making others on the island a bit nervous. Edwards should check into armor for his back before doing anything with Clinton. More on this at Gribbits Word.

Nancy (The Pot) Pelosi, Iraqi Legislature Can’t Pass Legislation

What a sobering moment for House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi in responding to President Bush’s press conference today discussing the Iraq preliminary report. The final report on the surge is set for September. Today on the floor of the House of Representatives, in attempting to justify why the U.S. should abandon the Iraqis and remove our troops, Nancy Pelosi chastises the fledgling democratic Iraqi government by stating that not enough political benchmarks have been met. She said the Iraqi legislature has been sitting on legislation for months and has not been able to show any progress passing any of it. The transcript does not capture her reaction to what she said when she said it. It was one of those “priceless” moments. A video will also show that she strayed slightly from the text transcript posted on her website. As of this writing I haven’t found a video of the proceeding.

According to her website, the “transcript” she posted says “Legislation to make the Iraqi political process more inclusive is stalled in the Iraqi legislature.” OK, is this the pot calling the kettle black or what? Bush addressed this issue today as well. Simply, the military and security benchmarks will come, and have to come, before the political benchmarks can be made.

Besides, the Iraqi legislators are dodging mortars, suicide bombers, and missiles Nancy. What’s your excuse?

It is unfortunate that the Speaker cannot be on the same side as our government and the Iraqi people. This is coming from the same people who criticized the administration for not planning for the aftermath of the fall of Saddam. What is their plan for Iraq if we were to leave before the job is complete? Have they taken that into account? Which BTW the President fully explained at his press conference today. Nancy does not care. She’s got an agenda for her party. And the party comes before the country.

Shoplifting Lefties On The Loose In Pensacola

Over the eight years of operating Philly’s, I have provided reading material for my customers to browse while waiting for their sandwich. The daily newspaper, the Limbaugh Letter, and Human Events, and some of my brilliant posts are there for the customers’ perusal. Until yesterday that is.

They can be replaced, but I’m wondering what motivates someone to steal this stuff from the counter? The left is always quick to squelch stuff like this so I’m guessing that is who is to blame. It never occurs to them to offer something that they think their neighbors should see. I don’t know for sure but I’d guess that there are liberal publications out there, besides the mainstream media that is, that a proud liberal would want to share it with Philly’s customers the same way this proud conservative wants to share what I enjoy reading. Like all the literature you’ll see in a doctor’s office, I offer up political literature for my customers to browse. It isn’t forced on anyone, it’s just in a little rack sitting on the counter.

A suggestion to the perpetrator: rather than turn yourself into a criminal, why not do something different, like encourage debate instead of attempting to censor it? Your challenge is to bring in a subscription of something you’d like to share and I’ll put it on the lunch counter, the physical one, in the store. The liberal conspiracy theories make for entertaining reading. Just one caveat, if you have to steal it in order to get it then never-mind. I don’t want it.

Freedom Concerts, For The Right Reason

Last night, the first of five Freedom Concerts played in Atlanta, Ga.. I’m not finding even one news article about the sell-out audience in Atlanta. The proceeds and all donations are used to provide college educations for the kids of our fallen soldiers. And also for those who would rather get a technical school degree, or require special educational needs. Whichever, it’s paid for.

“We get up and take care of kids and we live our lives and don’t have to worry about liberty and freedom,” Hannity says. “We get to have all these fun times because of the soldiers’ enormous sacrifice. This is a way to honor them.”

Lets contrast this with The Live Earth Concert, that world-wide concert extravaganza to save the earth managed to raise no money to contribute towards that cause. Since there was no ‘profit’ realized from the shows, the word is that the concerts were to raise public awareness for global warming. As if Algore’s science fiction movie hadn’t already done that. We’ve seen it mentioned in the news on an almost daily basis, so that couldn’t be the reason. It took Robert Kennedy Jr. to say what it was really about. It’s about criminalizing differing opinions and promoting political activism, at this supposedly non-political event.

“Get rid of all these rotten politicians that we have in Washington, who are nothing more than corporate toadies … This is treason. And we need to start treating them as traitors,” said Kennedy.

It was about his political socialist ideology and anti-capitalistic agenda of these ‘progressive’ types. Progressive, Socialist, the words are interchangeable. Government good, business bad. Kennedy did an excellent job of portraying the anti-establishment hippies of the 60’s. It’s almost like he never evolved beyond that.

The media however did cover the Live Earth event both in the ‘news’ and the on-air broadcast of it.

Between the two events, which event was non-political? Which one have you heard about in the media?

See Kennedy’s performance on Levin Papantonio Television, or rather, goLeft TV. The agenda begins after around 3 min. and 40 seconds into the 6 minute video. If you can watch it for that long.

Democrat Party, Investigation Central

This is worth repeating. What has this Democrat Congress done for the first six months? Minimum wage increase passed. Rep. Waxman is the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.Besides gas, that’s the only thing this Congress has passed. They don’t believe they were elected to do anything but investigate that evil George Bush and his administration. That’s just what Henry Waxman said he would do. You see, they are working their plan. What do you think they were supposed to do, fix Social Security, win the war, secure the border?

Both the House and Senate Judiciary committees are issuing subpoenas into an investigation of legal activity. They are investigating legal activity. There is no accusation of anything illegal in the firing of those 8 U.S. attorneys.

Waxman will probe areas of “Bush government.”

Three Names For The Pardon List

Scooter Libby isn’t the only American that should be pardoned. Forget this commuting the sentence crap. That is the wimpiest (if that’s a word) application of justice that I’ve ever seen. A pardon is what Libby has coming to him, as do these two American heroes who were wrongfully prosecuted and began their combined 23 years prison term on January 17th, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. U.S. Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean are in prison because they tried to stop, if not kill, a guy from entering the country illegally. His vehicle was loaded with 743 pounds of pot. He managed to get away after being shot in the butt, and later came back to the U.S. to accuse the officers of violating his civil rights for shooting him. As unbelievable as it sounds, the illegal drug runner prevailed and our public servants are in jail.

Add Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean to the pardon list along with Scooter Libby.

ACLU Taking Sides

The ACLU has been very busy lately. They sued the city of Slidell, LaDaylight is to a vampire as Jesus is to the ACLU.. over a portrait of Jesus hanging on the wall of a courthouse lobby. It is apparent that Jesus, well no, it’s not even Jesus, it is a picture of Jesus. A picture of Jesus is to the ACLU what daylight is to a vampire for crying out loud.

So when it comes to the subject of foot-baths for Muslims’ use before prayer, five times a day, you would think the ACLU would be all over that too! But you’d be wrong.

In fact, the Muslim group that was considering getting these foot-baths for their believers anticipated the ACLU would either sue them or the school over using public money that they were prepared to fund the $25,000 ‘project’ with private funds. But when they found out that the ACLU would represent them, they decided to have taxpayers buy them instead.

Muslims are required to wash body parts, including feet, up to five times daily before prayers. University officials say the floor-level wash basins are needed because some students at the 8,600-student campus wash their feet in the sinks.

A lesson on the subject of character from the “Religion of Peace”?

The public accommodation as far as I can tell is the fact that these ‘foot-baths’ are for prayer purposes. They’re sure not for hygiene. Prayer and the sinks that go with it are OK? A picture is not? How come I can Google all kinds of pictures of Jesus but not one picture of a Muslim foot-bath?

The ACLU has not only been busy, but they also have apparently taken sides. For them its political though, not religious. This issue is just a ride on the vehicle of chance to advance their contrary agenda. What’s important to note however is the fact that now they can not avoid showing themselves for the leftist anti-American bunch that they are. Even to the cool-aide drinkers out there. The ACLU is still a pig with lipstick. And the Muslims in Dearbornistan are what they are.

Employee No Choice Act Fails

As it should have. It was commonly mis-named as the Employee Free Choice Act. The bill has nothing to do with our national interest and everything to do with labor union interests. It is a bill to enhance union organization and membership by eliminating the private ballot, and was defeated when cloture vote failed with 51-48, and 1 not voting. When was the last time you voted using a public ballot, where people will see how you voted when you vote?

The states that were in favor are the Northeast and the left coast, as one would expect. Thank goodness for the rest of the country. There was only one republican that voted for it. Your RINO and mine, Senator Arlen Specter, number two in the Republican party. The one who didn’t vote was Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD) who is recuperating from a stroke he had a few months ago.

Vote results.

Sen. Mel Martinez Update

Politically speaking, my good Senator Mel Martinez has reached his zenith. He has reached his “Peter principle.” He is against enforcing current immigration laws, he wants to make new laws that make us less secure and more like Americo than America. He is quick to speak out on the vital topics of the day, like immigration, and energy, and has been consistent in putting the interests of illegals and Venezuelan dictators ahead of his constituents and our country.

Just like he did with immigration, Mel is again sounding the alarm about the hemisphere’s idiot, Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela. Chavez has already nationalized the oil industry there, confiscating assets of American oil companies (which the Senator has not named) that do business there. Chavez has shut out and shut down any news media that is critical of him. Can you say Fairness Doctrine? Yet Mel has no plan or suggestion on what to do about it. Unless of course you consider his plan to not drill for oil anywhere near the State of Florida as a plan to fix our oil dependency problem with foreign countries.

Sen. Mel Martinez will not respond to an inquiry as to why the U.S. Navy still has Citgo gas stations on every base in the United States. The notion of getting another vendor on our bases apparently hasn’t occurred to him, so what does it matter what he says about Venezuela today? While his head is in the sand, his butt is in the right place for kicking. Kick him out.
