What’s this all about? A little pushback of the talking-head Left’s lack of “patriotism” and respect of the nation’s history. That’s all.

“The Star Spangled Banner is stupid and embarrassing.”
– Bill Press, Current TV

“No one has the Star Spangled Banner on their iPod.”
– Comedian Daniel Tosh

Now I do. Two versions in fact. I know Tosh is a comedian. But it is a venue where a lot of the dumb masses get their “news.” Not a very deep bunch.

And then there’s this classic Jimi Hendrix version at Woodstock.

  1. “But it is a venue where a lot of the dumb masses get their “news.” Not a very deep bunch.”

Makes as much sense as getting your news from Fox. And you can believe that the Star Spangled Banner is a bad song and still be patriotic. Manny people, in fact, do believe that. But respect for a song is important to you while you could care less if people have health insurance. I’m happy you have your priorities straight.

“we need to show obama that we are still prous to be Americans”

It’s President Obama, and if you were proud to be an American it seems you would write better. I have no idea what ‘prous’ means. Is this something I’d have to watch Fox News to understand?

    1. You’ll notice, if you re-read my post, that I put “patriotism” in quotes. Of course, it means different things to different people. I like President Theodore Roosevelt’s definition. “Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.”

And the “respect” pertained to our my nation’s history. History can not be denied. It can be ignored, like what the political Left has a penchant to do.

You’re right about one thing though. I don’t care whether people have health “insurance” when having health “care” may be sufficient. Obamacare isn’t health insurance. It is socialized medicine and all that goes with that. It also (which is the goal) means the un-doing of the private-sector health insurance industry or about 20 percent of the American economy.

You haven’t a clue where I read “news,” unless you happened to look at the L-H sidebar.

  2. I just checked YouTube. As of right now, they’re over a million views. 1,073,305. Don’t stop now. They do a great rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
