Sharyl Attkisson, Dr. Ben Carson

Full Measure reporter Sharyl Attkisson’s one on one with Dr. Ben Carson.

Calm, low-key, and full of common sense. Eight minutes that will drive the Left crazy. Not because he attacks them (like they do to him), but because his message is attractive across party lines.

Save Cops, Ban Liberals

It’s been a whole three days since the ATF shelved their idea “at this time” to ban 5.56 ammo used in the most popular rifle in the United States today, the AR-15,

As predictable as the sun rising in the East, Congressional Democrats, not taking no for an answer, are at it again.

In light of the cop shootings in Ferguson, if these Democrats really want to protect cops, like they claim they want to do, then they should call for a ban on Liberals, not bullets.

There is no rash of cop killings, not even one, happening with AR-15 ammo. However, there are murder attempts happening from the racially charged rhetoric from liberals, the race industry, our President and Attorney General.

Pensacola Indoor Shooting Range Grand Opening

After long anticipation, the wait is finally over. The new indoor shooting range on Rt 29 will celebrate their Grand Opening with a four-day event starting Thursday October 2 and continuing through Sunday.

Located in the former Leisure Time RV property, the range is a ground-up brand new facility. 10 lanes, air conditioned, with state of the art sound-proofing. There are video cameras on each lane and a large monitor in the lobby where you can watch the shooters and their targets, which have their own cameras.

Rumor also has it that on Friday there will be sandwiches provided by Philly’s Cheesesteaks & Hoagies. So come and check it out. There is always a certified range officer there to ensure safe range operations and help shooters with whatever questions they may have. I know, they helped me improve my shooting accuracy and technique, novice that I am, so I know they can help you too.

“Gun Control” Controls The Wrong People, Not Guns

If you need an example of how so-called “gun control” is ineffective in crime prevention, you need to look no further than the Ramsey Orta case. Orta is the 22 year-old thug who recorded the police takedown of Eric Garner, who died on the scene from the incident. Orta was caught stuffing a 25 cal. semiautomatic pistol in an accomplice’s waistband. Both were arrested on weapons charges and drug possession.

Orta is a two-time convicted felon and as such, is not allowed (by law) to buy or have a weapon. But that didn’t stop him from getting one that was reported stolen in Michigan seven years ago. Ramsey Orta’s record includes assault, robbery, unlawful gun possession, and threatening to kill someone with a gun.

Orta has a previous weapons conviction on his record which prohibits him from possessing a firearm. He is also facing previous charges for assault and robbery. He is due in court this month on robbery charges stemming from a May arrest and an assault charge from an arrest three days before Garner’s death, according to court records.

Looks like New York City has a catch and release program too!

Action Alert: Eric Holder’s Operation Choke Point

It’s not like Attorney General Eric Holder has given up on his gun running operation, or fully complied with subpoenas. He just doesn’t want you to have one. And he (the Obama administration) is putting pressure on credit card processors to make it more difficult to do business.

Here’s how you can get involved in choking Eric Holder and his boss Barack Obama.

Rand Paul Offers Amendment to Stop Eric Holder’s Operation Choke Point

Excellent news!
A few weeks ago, we told you about “Operation Choke Point” — an effort by Attorney General Eric Holder to put gun stores out of business.

Basically, it works like this: The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), at the behest of Barack Obama, has declared that gun stores are “high risk” businesses. “High risk” businesses have been, up until now, a small category of supposedly disreputable businesses, which have included pornographers, sellers of drug paraphernalia, and payday lenders.

The second step in the process is Eric Holder’s Justice Department’s “Operation Choke Point.” And its function is specifically to choke off any credit or credit card processing for businesses (now including gun dealers) who fall in the “high risk” category.

Already, scores of gun dealers have complained that their banks have cut their credit or otherwise put pressure on them. Three articles detailing this effort to shut down gun dealers may be found
herehere and here.

The good news is this: Senator Rand Paul has just filed an amendment to the Science Justice Commerce Appropriations bill which will cut off Obama’s efforts to shut down gun stores by drying up their credit.
The Paul language is Amendment 3292 to H.R. 4660.

The appropriations bill is currently on the floor, but we expect the Paul amendment to be considered Friday or Tuesday. If adopted, the Obama administration would be barred from attempting to cut off credit to guns stores – just because they sell guns.

ACTION STEP:  Contact your Senators. Demand that they vote for the Paul amendment.

Where Was PTSD After WWII?

In the news again is a soldier shooting unarmed soldiers in a military base. Preliminary speculation to motivation is mental illness, PTSD.

Where was PTSD after WWII, the Korean War? What’s different about war, or the human condition, today? Or did incidents like this happen back then, but was never reported and sensationalized like it is today? Do you think the news today is fueled more by the “gun control” agenda than mental health?

Tea Party-Like Uprising In Chicago

Having felt the heat long enough, Chicagoans are finally seeing the light. Rev. Al Sharpton went to Chicago to discuss gun violence. But the people had something to say that the he never anticipated and, not surprisingly, the media is not covering.

Here are a few choice quotes from the video:

  • “We don’t have a gangs, guns (and) drugs problem. We have a nepotism, cronyism and patronage problem.”
  • “I would call a serious town meeting, like the town meetings Republicans would call … they call it a Tea Party.
  • “we have been trained to vote in a specific manner… we need to start looking at the manner in which our elected officials have been voting… if they have not voted in a manner that is beneficial to you, yours, and your community, then you need to start voting them out.”
  • “This (meeting) was a signal sent to City Hall, to the fifth floor (this is apparently Chicagoans’ term for the Mayor’s office and the “powers that be” in City Hall — Ed.), who sent no one down here to make sure that the city he (p)resides over.” (The apparent reference is to Mayor Rahm Emanuel.)
  • “We’re asking the President of the United States: Let us, the grass roots people, not these name-brand blue-ribbon Negroes … (to) stop giving these evil people our money.”

All I can add to this is, welcome brothers and sisters. Voting differently is the way out of the malaise, the crime, and government dependency.

Chicago 19, Navy Yard 13, Pensacola 1

Last night wrought 1 dead and 18 wounded in two incidents in Chicago last night. According to an FBI report on crime, Chicago is branded the Murder Capital of America. A witness of the shooting in the Chicago park told a reporter, “They’ve been coming round here looking for people to shoot every night, just gang-banging stuff. It’s what they do.”

From another witness, in the CBS video . . .

They was a lot of shots like, boom boom boom boom boom boom boom. Man like like, I say like nine some people got hit. A little kid got hit in the face man. I don’t know if he’s still alie. I don’t know what’s his condition.

A “young girl” was victim of another shooting in Pensacola last night. The Pensacola News Journal reports . . .

“There was an ongoing feud on this street between individuals,” he said. “According to the family, she was not from the neighborhood.”

The Navy Yard shooting in Washington got wall to wall news coverage from a crazy person with a gun. But when it comes down to the violent crime culture? Not so much.

The Administration’s Firewalls

No doubt, from the perspective of a community organizer, surrounding yourself with like-minded people is imperative when reaching goals are paramount to b-todd-jonesenforcing law. Yesterday, it was the new and unqualified Director of  ICE John Sandweg. Today, it’s B. Todd Jones, the new Director for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Before taking over for Melson in a DOJ push to appear to have done “something,” Jones was the chairman of the attorney general’s Advisory Committee. He sat in on Fast and Furious calls as early as October 26, 2009 — a meeting Melson also attended.

As a potential co-conspirator in Attorney General Eric Holder’s Fast and Furious gun-running program, Mr. Jones has a vested interest in keeping 90,000 documents on the Fast and Furious plot hidden from congressional investigators.

See, it’s not about following the law, or transparency. And there won’t be any ‘smoking gun’ documents that point to a coverup. That is inbred by the appointments themselves.
