SF Bay Area Mass Exodus

People are leaving California at a record rate. By all accounts, the high cost of living tops the list. High taxes, fees, and housing cost have become too much for poor and middle class to handle anywhere near the major cities.

For example, the demand for U-Haul trucks leaving is greater than arriving. In San Francisco, it is $3000 for a 1-way to Dallas. And $1000 for a 1-way from Dallas to San Francisco.

Less talked about is the position California has taken on illegal immigration. San Francisco is a Sanctuary City. California has declared itself a Sanctuary State. Drawing the attention of the Dept. of Justice and AG Jeff Sessions filing suit against State officials.

Aside from the high cost of living, safety becomes an issue particular to sanctuary cities. Safety of the citizens that is. More and more people have had enough of it, and leaving.

The homelessness in San Francisco is so bad, there is an online map that shows people where the human waste is. Places a tourist might want to avoid. The admin says the map is to call attention to the homeless problem. He sure did, but not in the way he intended.

To where are Californians fleeing? Most are going to right to work states with no income tax. Texas. Florida.

Cali And The Lawless Party

That California is going rogue is not new, except that this time they are breaking immigration law in the process. Causing the DOJ to get involved.

A.G. Jeff Sessions filed suit against California over some laws they made that are in violation of the immigration law.

Of course that’s BIG NEWS. Reported everywhere. What is instructive here, is also revealing. And that is the Democrats’ reaction to the lawsuit.

Their response does not dispute the charges. No, their response is to accuse the DOJ and the Trump administration as being racist.

What is instructive is that the Left doesn’t debate the issue when they know they can’t. They call people names instead. This case also reveals the Democrat Party as being the Lawless Party. Nothing new there. Only now it is by their own admission.

DACA Caca

President Obama introduced this mess into our immigration policy. But it wasn’t anything approved by Congress. Its was instead, by Executive Order. He designed the “temporary” work status for an illegal that meets certain criteria for two years. After which, it expires. When something expires, it’s over. Bu Bye!

Designed by the Obama administration, DACA allows for those people to re-apply upon expiration. There’s no guarantee of acceptance of a renewal application. So when these illegals signed the deal, they should have expected to return home after 24 months if/when their renewal application would not be approved.

But of course, Obama never intended that to happen. What he intended to happen was to create  more chaos, leaving room for rogue judges to handle the rest.

This is why Trump wants DACA fixed via legislation, by Congress, and gave some bullet points of what it would include. And, to insure that lawful immigration benefits America.

Even though Trump doubled the number of DACA recipients than Democrats originally asked for, they turned it down. Not surprisingly, the Dems in Washington will have nothing to do with settled legislation on immigration. Well, unless they get amnesty for all (over 20 million), no border security, sanctuary cities/states, and pouring millions more of low-skilled, poor, government-dependent undocumented Democrats. I say that, not only because the stats on party preference among illegals say so, but because they all have come from socialist regimes where they are dependent on their government. For them, voting Democrat is a natural choice.

One thing is for certain, if the illegals tended to identify as Republican by 31% to 4%, they’d be clamoring for border security of the kind that keeps them out. Here’s what immigration reform should include.

Durbin Wins M.R.I.O.T.D. Award

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) was in The White House for a meeting to make an immigration policy that benefits Americans. At that meeting, chain immigration necessarily came up.

It’s not that Durbin doesn’t know what chain migration is, because in 2010, he knew exactly what it was when he was advocating for the Dream Act. He ostensibly worked to end “chain migration.”

“The DREAM Act would not allow what is known as chain migration,” Durbin said. “In fact, DREAM Act students would have very limited ability to sponsor their family members for legal status.” [Emphasis added]

What’s different today? His political heritage has swelled to the point that now “chain” has only one meaning. For him, a chain is for enslaving Black people. The first, and only, meeting attendee to feel a need to tell the media what he wanted them to know about a private meeting with the president, Durbin said . . .

“When it came to the issue of “chain migration” I said to the President: “Do you realize how painful that term is to so many people? African Americans believe that they migrated to America in chains. And when you speak about ‘chain migration’ it hurts them personally.” He said: “Oh, that’s a good line.”

And of course, the media ate it up. It didn’t have to make any sense because it fit their narrative.

I do like Trump’s response, “Oh, that’s a good line.” Translation: typical race card BS, stick with that and 2018 will be even easier.

For Dick Durbin to tell anyone, let alone the President of the United States, that “chain migration” means slavery migration to African-Americans, he wins the Lunch Counter’s Most Ridiculous Item Of The Day (M.R.I.O.T.D.) Award.

Missed by the media, of course, and everyone else but Patterico,

let’s focus on a different aspect of Durbin’s statement — because it shows his ability to be absurdly sanctimonious with a straight face. Namely, he claims that he told the President that “chain migration” is offensive to black people, because they came here in chains. Yes, he really said that.

Democrats have spent their total existence dominating Black people. Since the Lyndon Johnson administration, the plantation is in  thought and identity politics, and the chains have been replaced with an ideology that will keep them there.

Tale Of Two Presidents

The more President Trump accomplishes for the country, the more irrational his detractors, the media, and the Washington establishment become.

The garbage thrown at Trump started before his inauguration. From Russian collusion alleged in a phony document that was used as intelligence, used to spy on his campaign and his administration. To obstruction of justice over same. To now, he’s crazy and should be removed from office.

Lets see who’s crazy.

Iran: One president breaks laws to get billions of dollars flown illegally, pallets of cash into the hands of the people who run the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, Iran, and they export it. And this president does everything he can to get them hundreds of millions of dollars in cash. This same country to whom we gave this cash is committed to creating a nuclear arsenal delivered by ICBMs, all of which are known to be under development because this president enabled them to move forward on their research.

The other president is working to stop all of this. The other president is working to unwind this insane deal and do what he can to prevent this state sponsor of terrorism from getting nuclear weapons. Now, who’s the smart one and who’s the dumb one?

Health Care: One president went out there and literally seized one-sixth of the U.S. economy and lied to the American people in doing it. He promised the American people if we would just entrust our health care to him, somebody who doesn’t know anything about it beyond being a theoretician in the academic lounge. Somebody who’s never run a hospital, who’s never talked to anybody who’s run a hospital, who’s never had the slightest interest in running a hospital took over one-sixth of the U.S. economy along with the rest of his party, lied to the American people to do it, claiming that if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, and if you like your insurance plan, you can keep that.

The other president is doing everything he can to unwind that and deregulate as much of the Obama health care takeover as he can. Who’s the smart one, who’s the dumb one?

ISIS: A brutally inhumane, militaristic gang which one president said, “We’re doing everything we can. There’s not much we can do. Get used to it. They’re here.” Destabilizing the Middle East, destabilizing a victory in Iraq, leading to terror attacks around the world.

The other president has systematically wiped out this organization in under a year. Surrendering in Iraq. Who is the smart one and who’s the stupid one? Who’s the dangerous one and with whom are we in safer hands?

The Swamp: One president spies on his political opponents. One president knowingly takes opposition research from the presidential candidate of his party, knowingly allows it to be used as legitimate intelligence, when it’s lies and made-up BS, allows his Justice Department to get a FISA warrant to surveil and spy on the presidential candidate of the opposite party. The other president, in the midst of an entire effort by all of Washington to destroy him with this phony dossier, exposes this.

Who is it that’s unraveling? Was it the Obama team? Was it the Hillary team? Was it the Democrat Party? Is it the Washington establishment unraveling, or is it Donald Trump perhaps getting rid of the filth and the dirt and giving this country a working chance again?

The Economy: One president micromanages the economy into the ground and tells the American people that our better days are behind us. And, “you didn’t build that.” Government did. He says the great days of America’s past were not really legitimate. They were built on phony policies, trickle-down economics from the Reagan administration. The United States is not exceptional or deserving of superpower status. We now must manage the decline. And I, Barack Hussein Obama, am the smartest guy in the world to manage the decline of the United States and its economy.

His replacement liberates the economy, to the point in under a year it is growing at twice the rate it ever grew under Barack Obama. The reason is not just his taking the regulation shackles off of business and industries, introducing tax laws that allow us to compete in the world economy, but on curbing illegal immigration. And the beneficiaries of that where jobs are concerned are the poor, of all races. The less illegals taking American jobs means jobs available for our own citizens. Which is clear by the fact that unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics are at all time lows. And yet we’re told Obama is brilliant, he’s so smart, we can’t even stay in the same room with him. Donald Trump is silly. He’s insane. He’s obsessed. His unfit. We need psychiatrists examining him. We need the 25th Amendment.

Who’s the nutcase, who’s the dangerous one, and who is, in under a year, unraveling all of the mistakes borne of the either poor ideology or just blatant stupidity of the previous administration?  Or both?

Undocumented Democrats

When you hear a politician selling the need for “comprehensive” Immigration reform, you should know what that really means.

Since Sen. Ted Kennedy, immigration reform meant the more the merrier. But not from those prosperous/productive and White countries in Eastern and Western Europe. In order to survive, Democrats need a permanent dependent class, like from say, Central America. So why would anyone think that illegals from there would be Democrats if given the right to vote?

When almost all the illegals lived their entire life under socialism or a dictatorship, the Democrat Party is a natural fit.

Pew Research Center did a piece about party affiliation and illegals. It shows overwhelmingly Democrat. But then they say . . .

“And it’s uncertain whether these unauthorized immigrants, many of whom are currently unaffiliated, would adopt similar political affiliations and voting patterns if given the chance to naturalize.”

The “unauthorized immigrants” don’t know, and schools aren’t teaching, about personal freedom and liberty, the Constitution and our founding. But they do know where to look for stuff. The almighty government.

This is why, to Democrats, “comprehensive immigration reform” means guaranteed Democrat Party dominance for the foreseeable future. Adding millions of voters to the Party with a pen.

Considering the country is nearly 50/50 (Dem/Rep) now, automatically picking up a 10 or 15 (or more) point spread, would pretty much end the Republican Party as a useful organ of government.

Then the remaking of America could resume.

Dems Don’t Want Border Security

Democrats say nyet to Trump’s request for $1B to get the border project started. The same Democrats who voted for it* in 2006, who include Sens. Schumer, Pelosi, Clinton, and Obama.

Of a $3Trillion budget, they are saying no to .1% (one tenth of one percent) of the spending budget. Shows how bad they don’t want to protect our border and our people. Not to mention how much they care for the will of the American people who elected him.

Below is a dialog of both sides of the issue swiped from my Facebook page. Commenting is Derek Cosson and myself. H/T to Derek for his civil, thoughtful response.

Cosson The wall is a really dumb waste of money.

Calloway Disagree. If you want to talk waste of money. Border security, with a wall, double fencing, all the electronic bells and whistles, is a one-time charge of somewhere between $15-25 billion. One time. (At $25B, that comes to $200/household. Where do I send my check?) The financial cost of illegal aliens here is $113B PER YEAR, or $904/household, per year. There’s your waste of money. The burden on education, health care, infrastructure, prisons, jobs and unemployment is not the only cost. That $113B is not counting the social cost of these illegal aliens. Does not count the people illegals have killed, raped, robbed, and assaulted. That is the social cost you can’t put a price on.

Cosson Your argument rests on the premise that the wall would somehow eliminate illegal immigration, though, and it won’t.

Calloway They say illegal crossing has dropped considerably in the last few months. I don’t think a wall will “eliminate” illegal immigration. It will be doing all that we can do to prevent it. While not building a wall, fences, etc, will guarantee illegal immigration forever, drug cartels, terrorists, human traffickers, gangs, all that. To me it is no different that having a lock on the door of your home. Since it won’t stop a burglar, will you take your lock off?

Cosson It literally astounds me that anyone who claims to be a fiscal conservative could get behind this project. It’s the literal definition of government spending run amok. In addition to the insane capital cost of this wall, it’s going to cost hundreds of millions of dollars a year just to maintain it. All with literally zero evidence it will do anything at all to impact the problem it’s intended to address. If we build a wall, they will build ladders and tunnels. But the bottom line is this: we have an insane deficit. We cannot afford this, and its questionable benefit doesn’t merit charging it to the nation’s credit card.

Calloway When the gov’t does what it’s supposed to do, keep us safe and sovereign, I don’t see that as running amok. Granted there’s a lot of pencil sharpening to do to reduce deficits, and the unsustainable national debt. But in my first reply, the numbers demonstrate that a secure border, and enforcing immigration law, will do both. I just can not accept the notion that doing nothing to stop illegal immigration, and granting illegals amnesty and voting rights, is good for America. The problem is in Central America, and it’s not ours to fix. If their governments were not so corrupt, and economies so socialist broke, they wouldn’t have a reason to flee. But it’s just like our bleeding heart liberals to make the rest of us pay for their better future.

*Actually, in the 109th Congress, H.R. 6061 , Secure Fence Act of 2006, was for building a fence, with other bells and whistles, with the goal of gaining “operational control” of the border. The purpose of which was to keep out all unlawful entries into the United States, including entries by terrorists, other unlawful aliens, instruments of terrorism, narcotics, and other contraband. Congress passed the bill.  President Bush signed it into law. It covered only 649 miles of the 2000 mile southern border. Trump’s proposal includes all that plus a wall in appropriate places.

Judicial Anarchy, Tyranny

Another rogue judge ruling, not on the law, not on the constitution, but on his (and Obama’s) personal feelings and agenda.

A few days before the travel ban v2.0, President Obama met with the judge, a former Harvard Law School classmate, while vacationing in Hawaii. Then miraculously, 2 hours after the temporary travel ban was issued, this judge comes up with a 34 page law-less opinion issuing a stay.

https://youtu.be/JWdmDJN10M4

Echoes of the politicized DOJ are clear in the court system too. Time to get the impeachment train running. When we lose the rule of law, we lose the country.

Cost Of Socialism

So the revised cost of the border wall, before Trump works on getting it lower, is now $21.6 Billion. Up from $15 Billion. At this “cost,” that comes to $173 per household. Up from $120. OK fine. Where do I send my check?

That is far less than the $113 Billion a year we are paying now to sustain illegal aliens already here. And that translates to $904, per year per household.

The financial burden on education, health care, infrastructure, prisons, jobs and unemployment is not the only cost. That $113 Billion does not count the people illegals have killed, raped, robbed, and assaulted. That is the social cost you can’t put a price on.

Kudos to President Trump for doing what he said he would do. Enforce the law. Like he’s been doing since he was inaugurated.

You can’t blame Mexicans to want to escape their country, where the average wage is $4 per day. Venezuelans and Chinese are also flocking to enter the United States, legally.

Why is that?  Corruption isn’t the only reason Mexico is in sorry shape. It’s their quasi-socialist economic system. It doesn’t sustain, it doesn’t work. Mexico, like Venezuela, is rich in natural resources, like oil. Nothing a little capitalism can’t fix. What else can explain why the disparity on one side of the border is so great?

Mexicans are not happy with their government and the corruption in it. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto’s approval rating is 12%. But it’s their problem to fix.

Promoting Planned Parenthood OK, and Ivanka Trump Not OK?

So when can I expect Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and the entire Democrat apparatus in Washington to turn themselves in for ethics violation for promoting Planned Parenthood?

The “gain” is campaign contributions from the pro-death constituency of the Democrat Party.

And if we look deeper, I’d hazard a guess that some of them have received contributions from PP itself.  Similar to the money laundering scheme between Democrats and Big Labor. What’s worse, we taxpayers have been forced to fund Planned Parenthood by $500,000,000 a year. How do you think Democrats would take to funding another corporation, say, Ivanka Trump’s company?

I heard it’s Grammy day today, Feb 12, 2017. I want to say HI to both of my grammies who are in heaven.

Drive To Mexico, Vote, Get Stuff

Driving down there is good. Represents a little class. More than climbing over a fence, or sneaking through a tunnel. Remind the authorities too that “people are not illegal.”

Then again, maybe walking would be safer, because with U.S. tags on your car, the police will target you for a shakedown. If walking, their border patrol will pick you up and take you and your family wherever you want to live, then sign you up for free stuff. Isn’t that the way it works down there?
