No Mammograms Here

Amid the controversy around the government to stop giving $500,000,000 a year of taxpayer money to a company, friendly to the Democrat Party, the usual reaction is, but oh, where are women to go for mammograms? This company is a tax-exempt “non-profit” named Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. (PPFA), or Planned Parenthood.

PPFA has its roots in Brooklyn, New York, where Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the U.S. in 1916. For Eugenicists, like Sanger, abortions were key in refining the Aryan  race, The Negro Project. Sanger founded the American Birth Control League in 1921, which changed its name to Planned Parenthood in 1942.

Despite its background, proponents of Planned Parenthood, and Democrats fighting to keep you funding them, say that pulling funding will hurt their mission to provide “reproductive health services.” What they really mean is un-productive health services, abortion.

Democrats like Sen. Charles Schemer, and ACLU Deputy Legal Director and Planned Parenthood champion Louise Melling, say that some women rely on Planned Parenthood for their mammograms. It sounds persuasive to the ‘dumb masses’ (say that real fast) so that’s all that matters for them. For them, perception is reality. The reality is, Planned Parenthood does not offer mammograms as a service.

If serving women’s health issues were the object, which it is not, then the Democrats in Washington would have no hesitation in pulling the half-billion dollars from the 700 Planned Parenthood Clinics, and instead divvy it up to the 13,540 other women’s clinics in the country. Clinics that do provide mammograms, reproductive health services, and do not kill babies and sell their remains.
